DSA 2023

Singapore can produce world class talent. Chloe Chua started learning violin at age 4 at Nanyang academy of fine art (weekend lessons I think). And she won the world violin competition in 2018 at the age of 11. She is now an artist in residence with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, bringing joy to Singaporean and the world. I think she is home schooled after her 2018 win. Watch her winning performance in 2018 here:

Hi
Would appreciate if anyone could give a brief on what to expect for those who have been shortlisted for creating track audition for SOTA, from past experiences of both pre-covid & covid-time online auditions. Thank you! -
Hi, my child is shortlisted for SOTA TA under LA. May I know what to expect for the online questionnaires and is this referring to the cognitive test that was mentioned in SOTA thread previously?

i called SOTA admission last year (2022). SOTA admissions officer informed that SOTA choice is on top (in addition) of 3 other DSA choices.
Yes, I can confirm (at least from last year) that SOTA is separate from MOE's DSA limit of 3 schools. Note also that SOTA uses an earlier deadline and there are procedural steps to complete (e.g. registering for access to their TA Portal etc.). Not difficult but the earlier deadline threw us off as we were not paying attention and almost missed submitting our DS' application in time.
if i remember correctly (?), SOTA also issue their CO earlier than the other other schools. If you accept a CO from SOTA first, then you cannot accept other DSA offers. do call SOTA admissions to clarify process for this year (2023). they are very friendly. -

My children Sec school conduct trial for CCA too during Sec 1, for most of sports cca. My children whom have no background in sports, went on to uniform group and band. The standards have been raised for cca domains, unlike us parent time where cca were more for “recreational” in general. Let those kids with more talent in those cca domains join those sport cca bah.
