It might depend on when the admin personnel in charge came back from annual leave…In the case of selections, may need several layers of ppl to approve the shortlist. It’s a waiting game.
Just received an email from the electronic postman send by a certain school confirming that they have received the application and are processing the application blah blah blah.
Guess some (many) schools are still pretty slow when it comes to this DSA thingy. -
Some schools probably have a few hundred applicants for 1 domain vs other schools only less than 50 or so for 1 domain. I guess the latter can send out email earlier.

I think it largely depends on whether the schools have the system in place to process, shortlist and select the applicants. I think the IP schools are very familiar with the game and are ready for DSA application before the game even started whereas non-IP schools tend to be slower in their processing.

FWIW, I never received any direct acknowledgment of my application from one dual-track school. I had to wait and wait until right at the end of the exercise to finally receive…the rejection letter.

The only acknowledgment of receipt I had was the one from the DSA portal’s auto-generated email. Good enough. -
Received email from DHS for sports trial
-
Had anyone heard from TJC for Basketball for boys? The consolidated list mentions TKD, and then says "sports trial 12 July"- is that the date for the TKD trial, or all sports, please? Thanks!

For parents who had experience with sports trial (eg badminton), can share how would the selection be done? Roughly how many students playing in total and the chances to be shortlisted is usually low?

This is what I heard:

In a top IP boys Sch, selection is via elimination by pitting players against each other in a singles match (you can go figure out how they select the players to pit against) . The last few standing probably are the ones that moved on to the interview round. -
I feel this DSA exercise also provided us with a glimpse of how the particular CCA operates (those tied to a cca eg sports or performing arts) In my experience, the sch teacher really went beyond the usual electronic email and personally sent a few emails to all applicants to clearly state the follow-up timelines etc. The personal touch leaves a good impression even if ultimately not selected haha.

Depends from Sch to Sch. For some, it was notified via email. For the rest, cca tchr called personally notifying of trial, interview and outcome.
