I shared with the group earlier that i called NUS High this morning and was informed that the results were not out yet. (See earlier post). Not sure if they released anything since then though. Thanks.
      Thank you !!

My DD says must atleast try for DSA in 3-4 points higher school....else what is the point.

        I kind of agree.

If you get 84x4 you get 12 points. If you get 85x4, you get 8.

In my opinion, not much difference between the two students.
A good point your DD has.. if you successfully DSA into a school that has higher COP than your own scores, when PSLE results comes in and you actually can qualify for lower COP schools, the regret is real. I know afew of my DS's classmates last year that regretted accepting their CO when PSLE results were out and their scores ended up 3-4 AL scores better than their CO school, qualify for R* and H* schools (girl+boy). The affected kids and parents regretted it. Even if the CO school is in the top 5 schools, the feeling of regret will still be there.. and they will always explain that, 'Oh actually I can qualify for so and so schools but because we DSA-ed into this school.\"

UNLESS, the school is really their dream school, then I think the regret would not set in. Alot of kids/parents target the 'best' school based on their results.. so the regret will be there.

But eventually I trust the kids will eventually enjoy their CO school still.

Hi all^^ Parents of sports applicants, is it a norm for the person in charge to give feedback after trial/interview?

First time applied for DSA for my child… Reason I ask is because we wanted to leave straight after the trial but realized someone was hollering at us to wait to have a quick chat🫠 person went on to say DS had raw skills, did well for interview and showed resilience during the game. It didn’t dawn on me to ask what exactly he meant by "raw skills." Any thoughts? TIA for any insights.

The school you applied to will receive your P5 raw marks, so they will be well aware of whether your AL12 is 84x4 or 80x4.
The schools will receive the results but most of the time, it’s for reference only as different primary schools set different difficulty levels for their internal exams. While it will probably be raised during the interview, schools wouldn’t outright reject you unless they really have no confidence in you.

Yes that happens. It also means your child might have a chance to be spotted.
Raw skills might mean that while the child has not received a lot of training, he/she shows the right aptitude for the sports, ie, high potential.
