Just for my own curiosity - when kids receive CO for DSA via Leadership, do they automatically become prefects when they join the Sec sch?


Do schools "use" their leadership talent/skill in any particular way or provide them with more leadership opportunities than usual?

not dsa-ing this year, but i heard from a friend that if go via leadership, for some schools like crescent will have to join uniform group. and likely also become part of a prefect.

DD audition on 4 Jul. Not sure how many shortlisted.

If selected, interview will be on 22 Jul, 29 Jul or 5 Aug.

Hi manorway, my DD applied for English. Those who applied for STEM also went last Saturday. Which domain did your neighbour's DD apply for?

My DD had Band 1 for her P4 English, AL1/2 for her P5 EOY and P6 WA English. She only had participated in her school's inter-class writing competition; had 2 compositions selected for school's publication and a recent situational writing piece was selected as model piece for her class.

I understand that some schools will arrange for the students to participate in the Queen's Commonwealth Writing Competition but my DD did not have that experience. Hence we were thankful that MGS is willing to shortlist my DD. 🙏

She was a little nervous but overall it was a good experience for her. Also her first time to see a huge auditorium in a school. She also told us that the library is 2 storeys high and the toilets were very very clean. 😅😂

They have a swimming pool in the school and the compound is huge.

I think you can consider to give it a go for your DD in the near future if she had AL1-2 for English. Also, from our research, other schools offer only the IP programme for academics based domains. We prefer the O level (new name: SEC) track and MGS offers both tracks.

Some schools like SCGS also offers other leadership opportunities like class rep, peer support leader. Can read up from the school or DSA website.

So far from our research, only Crescent Girls' had stated clearly in their DSA website that joining Uniformed group CCAs is compulsory for successful DSA via Leadership.
