Chief, I m thankful so far. I don’t really feel sick. When the thermometer consistently showing more than 38.5 I thought the thermometer is spoilt. I still function quite normally.

It’s important to consider the well-being of everyone in the household when dealing with a situation like COVID-19. Good thing, no more COVID in my country. Wearing a mask or doing precautions is no longer mandatory.

I just discovered (maybe I'm late to the game!) that 2 brands of ART test kids have had their expiry extended by 9 months. So I won't have to throw them away yet, though I doubt I'm going to use them before the extended expiry date.

I haven't found any info about an extension for SD Biosensor (I have 3 expiring in Oct 2023). Anyone heard of other brands getting an extension? -
I hope the govt will say something about the extension of the ART kits. Those given by them will be expiring soon.

Aiyah just use them on random days before expiry to make sure you are not asymptomatic lor.

My dad’s helper (below age 50) has her bivalent covid vaccination in Jan 2023.
Today I walked in to a clinic which offers the vaccination to ask for more info on her next jab as I recalled the govt’s recommendation is to take the jab yearly.
The receptionist told me that since the helper has her bivalent dose, she doesnt need any more jab.
Anybody has a similar issue? -
There will be a newer & updated Covid jab coming but no exact roll-out date yet. MIL wanted to do her jab yday but our family doc say to hold on abit for the new one.

My last jab was Oct last year Moderna Bivalent.
I am once again spared the infection with DD being Covid +ve recently, despite sharing food and drinks with her when she started showing symptoms as we were not aware yet that she’s +ve.
Was wondering if I should go for another jab since it has been a year. I actually do not have the habit of taking any flu jabs even though it is highly recommended for our industry and am wondering if it is really that necessary. -

The current advice is that a person is considered up-to-date with Covid vaccinations for 1 year from the last jab. So it's probably too early for another booster. If you wait till Jan 24, she can probably get another jab.

Currently, there isn't any info as to how much protection a Covid jab more than a year ago provides. I suspect it varies from person to person anyway. Certainly an unvaccinated person is likely to suffer worse if they catch Covid, but what if the last jab taken was, say, 15 mths ago? My guess (only a guess!) is that even vaccinations taken more than a year ago do provide some degree of protection, whether from catching Covid, or from severe symptoms.

Like you, I generally don't bother with flu jabs unless I plan to travel in winter. I was going to get flu and Covid jabs at the end of the year as I was planning to travel in Feb. It's about 13 mths since my last Covid booster. But my travel plans may not come to pass due to the situation in the Middle East, so I may not take the jabs. My reckoning is that having not caught Covid from various family members, and having had 4 jabs to date, I should be safe enough.
