Be honest, I am not sure how to share her profile here as she doesn't really have one.

      Some background:
1.GEP student, no tuition or any sort of academically related enrichment programme
2.Avid reader since very very little, love to read all kinds of books, recently into psychology books and currently reading Randall Munroe's \"What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions\"
3.We never planned to use DSA route to enter secondary but happened that she told me all her classmates were applying via DSA so she also wanted to \"join the fun\" and we thought it would be an interesting experience to walk through the journey. Based on her academic performance, we opted Sci and English as these are her two favourite subjects.
      4. Participated several Sci olympiad and received medals but no track record for English domain
      5. She started to write her own novel since P5. Writing becomes part of her life other than reading, she writes/reads whenever she can. I don't know the storyline but I do know she does carry out some scientific research if needed.
      6. P5 AL6 and Engish is A1 throughout
7.Selected for the school debate team
8.She mentioned that RGS teacher called her current school teacher to check on her performance?

That's all i could gather. Hope it helps. :siam:
Well deserved and congrats again :rahrah: :rahrah: . Much applause for #2 and #5 above, and nice to see that a CO came about from what the child was doing intrinsically.

Not sure if this is appropriate to ask. Does anyone know on average, how many CO and WL were offered for each domain based on past years? 🙏
Perhaps u can state which school you’re interested in and then the parents who did the relevant research at open house/forum/etc can reply you cos every school has different domains.

My girl is from normal neighbourhood school.

We apply through math to nush, rgs and nygh..

Nygh did not select for math assessment..

But she got confirmed offer for nush and rgs through Math.

For academic route dsa, my sense is that GEP should have advantages of being selected to take the test...

Nush is more independent as all will take the screening test... I know of cases even GEPs with gold medals.. cannot pass their selection..

In a way, all schools have their internal criteria...
Very surprising that she was not selected from Round 1 at NYGH (usually picks up a large number of students). Anyways, the other two are well earned, and it looks like she has the one she wants. Best of luck and hope she/you guys enjoy the remaining days of primary school.

Thank you grand master. I'm referring to some IP schools like HCI, RI and CHS? 🙏

                      Hello

Is anyone know if primary school submits preliminary results to DSA school?

I personally don't reckon DSA schools will wait to look at prelim results before issuing selection outcomes. They should have taken into consideration child's talents as well as past years' results before inviting for trial/test/audition? Some schools already released CO/WL in early August, way before Prelim.

For schools that choose to do so in September - whether they have access to prelim results or peek at it before determining selection outcomes - nobody knows..

I understand the wait for outcomes can be agonizing. We have felt it too at some point.. and by we(I mean me.. my DC is oblivious.. didn't ask until I mentioned it) 😅 I told my DC no matter the selection outcome, still have to sit for exams. A month to psle 🤓 Press on!
