Me Time!
-
These 2 days seems to be a little bit disturbed…things shall get better. Planning to have a longer eating time even though trying hard as everytime after meal kept telling myself that’s really enough…food can de stress mah…make ppl happy.
This morning kept thinking go where get what but then ended up just took veg and meat fm fridge. Dds can go out dabao their favourite food if the want. -
My polling station is just 1min walk from my house. Initially wanted to vote first but saw the Q number at 120!!! So hubby and I walked over to Novena Sq for breakfast instead.
Realized from news that the long Q was due to system issues from ELD. Very lousy, ELD should have learnt from their bad experience during the last GE not that long ago! Can’t imagine if simple IT resourcing problems cannot even be satisfactorily resolved, how to handle Big Data challenges? -
One station told me need to reboot system so I went to the next one. Not sure but may not all down?

My H says should be not enough CPU to handle the spike in registration numbers. Go to next station could face same issues cos the system should be centralized. -
When I was walking out…I have this feeling…woah suddenly feel like seeing so many people. Just happened a group of people in front of me like having an excursion…in shorts and talking excitedly…so happy.
And when I looked around…not many old folks leh. -

No issues at my polling station. At 8.30, the queue was about 50, and I didn't bother. Checked again around 9.45, and saw that the queue was <20. So went and voted, and the whole process was under 10 mins. My husband was even quicker - they directed him to the senior's queue (they didn't ask to check his age!). But I was directed to the normal queue. We're both still a few months shy of 60.

You are so right! At 8.30, I went down and saw about 50 pax, many of them elderly. But at 9.45, there was a lull and the queue was under 20, so my husband and I went quickly - but my older girl hadn't had her breakfast yet! She's going now - queue still shows <20.
There’ll prob be a lull period after the elderly have voted and the young adults haven’t woken up yet…or i might have an early lunch and go during the typical lunch hour when ppl are out hunting for food! Mine is extremely far away this time (neither walking distance nor have a direct bus).
-

Yes i went during that mid-morning lull period too. It’s the same every time. Quick and easy.

I saw many cars with elderly and their caregivers driving in…they were ushered to priority/cut Q. But still, inside, us who could walk faster just walk faster to the actual booth and chop done. -

By the time I got down by 8am, there was a LOOONNG queue already, like 200 people! And the queue didn't move at all \"because they were having some connectivity problems with the backend\"! What the heck. I queued, fuming, until 8:50am when suddenly the queue started flowing again much more smoothly, just when there was about 10 people in front of me. Boy, was I pissed.
Was there a Q outside waiting to chiong in?
I just woke up and having my coffee.
-
For my side, no queue at all, staff are waiting for citizens to vote. I went down around 1130am, only 3 or 4 people are voting in the station. When I reached, the staff checked me NRIC and gave me the vote paper immediately. I just stamped on it and put into the polling box. The whole process took less than 5 min. Maybe more polling stations in HDB area.
