Under the example above, the student will need to select a school with an Express (G3) COP of AL18 - AL22. A student can only opt for the NA (G2) course if he/she scores AL21 - AL25.

For AL21-AL22 (Express/Normal Option Band), I think the student has to select which course he/she wants and then all of the choices must be in this course.

The example of 21-25 score range for Normal, it just that in that year all students accepted into Normal stream score between 21-25. It could be 18-25 , if a student with 18 score applied and accepted into it?

You first enter G3/G2/G1, which have the same score ranges as the old Express/NA/NT. Each school then has its own COP for each course based on student choice/supply.

You cannot enter G2 (or the old NA) if you score AL20 or better. FSBB has to do with mixed form classes and the ability to take subjects at a higher level (for example, G2 can take at G3 level if AL5 or better).

More or less, the entry mechanism has not changed from last year and course COPs should be about the same (need to see what happens with the schools that are adding G2, i.e. Cresent Girls, Tanjong Katong Girls, Tanjong Katong Secondary).

Hi all,

For composition, do we have to leave a line in between? I read from the SEAB rules booklet, that states \"Don't leave line\", but the school teacher said to leave a single line in between?

My child left a blank line in-between because his writing is big & tends to fill the whole line. So writing on alternate lines is neater & more readable for the marker. No damage to the marks.

Students will qualify for the various streams based on their AL score first.

After u know the stream (indicated on the psle result slip), then u have to find 6 schools that your score falls within the COP, to fill up the 6 choices in the S1 posting form.

Prior FSBB , a student with PSLE score good enough for Express can opt to downgrade to NA stream (assuming barely make it to Express , opt for NA stream instead). Same reasoning, In the current FSBB, a student with AL18, should be allowed to downgrade to “PG3/PG2” (21-22 range) posting group too isn’t it?

:scared: Wow in this case it really limits the choices of secondary schools.. for AL18 example, out of 3 nearby schools only 1 has Express COP 13-19. And AL18 doesn't fall in the range of Normal for other 2 schools either. =(

That means we will know the child AL score results then select the 6 choices of schools based on their COP?

If a kid qualifies for the express stream (<=AL20), his choice is based on the COP for each school's express stream, whether in tscore, AL or preFSBB/SBB or FSBB era.

Kid A with AL14 cannot qualify for BPGH but kid B with AL21 can. Kid A cannot opt for G2/NA stream even though he prefers BPGH as a school choice.

Came across a case of kid with score range ard AL19 before PSLE. Parents in dilemma. By any logic, one should aims to work harder to get a better result but on the other hand it is hard to swallow, the limited choice of schools with COP of AL19 in express stream vs schools with COP of AL21-23 for G2/NA and better reputation. Esp in FSBB, one can take G3 subjects with better AL. So made them wonder if the years of tuition in the weakest chinese subject is worth the sweat and tears.

Yes, first just get the results slip and see what course/stream the student is eligible for. If <= AL20, will need to select schools based on the Express/G3 COPs. If AL21-AL22, will need to decide whether to go for Express/G3 or NA/G2.
