It kills creativity thoughts among the kids based on such inference type of questions.

My child said that the question above was just one of the " normal " questions, not the "harder ones" .

Chenlaoshi, u have any idea which are the harder questions and care to share?

Realised that PSLE 2022 papers for the subjects are not as easy as what is being shared in the forum or others?

I find that the sci papers are extremely tough, even the chinese papers.

Is it me only or does anyone feel that the recent years PSLE are more difficult than the earlier years?

Tot MOE is advocating less stress for the kids so they removed the T-score and mid year exams?

And now they are just killing us such tough papers?

Even prelim papers not as hard as the PSLE ones…

        OMG!!!

jasst, the only other question that I heard of, for which some students had different answers, was the one asking which place they should choose to visit if they are interested in history.

I think this inference types of questions really depends on the maturity and experiences of the kid. Imagine the kids mum always asking kid to eat lesser cuz kid is fat then he will choose option 2. If the kids mum is health conscious kind always asking kid to exercise then he will choose 1. If the kids mum is always asking the kid to eat more food no matter what he/she says especially nutritious food then kid will choose 3. They supposed to know what a correct mother’s response should be?

            Wells….
By right, kids should be tested within the context of passage given.

#2 the sentence is flawed. We don't normally cook only 1 bowl of rice. If it was to mean to cook only 1 bowl share for the child, it didn't phrase it that way. Hence, first to be eliminated in my view.

Gaining weight does not equate to being overweight for a child. Our children understand this as they are gaining height and weight all the time, measured in sch and at home. Also, there is no context about the child is not doing enough exercise. No mention abt exercise or activeness at all. Cannot expect kids to make assumptions.

            Minimally, eating nutritiously was mentioned.

Has there been a definite answer? Or we are all guessing only?

Nonetheless, i believe there will still be kids getting into IP even if they didn't get one or two such qns correct, not make or break.

To add to the confusion even more, i think the version i saw on reddit (before it was removed by mods cos the kid who posted was below age 13) had an extra word 少:

              2.那我以后少煮一碗饭就够了

It is quiet contradicting...while we want to make stress free but continue with tricky questions...children kind of feel let down when vague questions are thrown at them..as such they don't have practice be removing SA1..

Listening compre shld really be testing listening skills. Those kids who picked up words accurately shld be rewarded.
As parents of kids doing music, we know that there are kids who have good ears, just like there are kids who are good with numbers or kids who have good memory etc. I know of one who has good eyes for printed text since young. Eg. Can spot the funny rule at the last scene of the red lions video which only flashes in fraction sec.

Anyone read this? So should the students leave lines in between during composition writing? Will the kid be penalized if he leave a line in between just in case he needs to edit his compo when checking?

His school never asked them to practice Not leaving lines during his WA/prelim..

What should we do? If leave lines, will it be penalized since its the rule to don't leave lines?

Instead of leaving lines, might be better to first do a top-level plan of what you want to write about. It's just an outline, skeleton of the story. Then you can write as planned, without leaving any lines. I used to do that, and got so used to it that it is mental now, so I can write with the outline in my head.

For situational writing, does paragraphing a must in marking scheme? Cause some schools r taught differently. Like my dau 's school, some classes said must have 3 paragraphing whereas her class 's teacher never taught the students of providing any paragraphing. My neighbor's school said must have 3 paragraphing. Just wondering whether kids would be penalised if never provide paragraphing.
