Yes, the live streaming usually has one or two screens/ camera only. In an interactive type of setting where speakers interact with audience and on screen, it is not possible to capture these interactions even with many cameras and a whole production team.
With due respect, not sure whether there are so many charismatic lecturers (speakers) in JCs or in general.
I prefer physical lectures more for interaction and eye contact between the lecturers and the students. Think physical lectures will engage the students more meaningfully. -
Hi, I am looking for A levels H2 Biology face to face tuition for DD. Would anyone be able to provide recommendations, contact ? Any guidelines for typical charges will be appreciated too.
I am also trying to find a pair of track shoes for her. The grooves should not be shallow ones. Does anyone know of a "warehouse sale" so that time can be saved instead of visiting shops one by one ? If you have made track shoe purchases online and bought from a different brand, how straightforward is the experience to gauge the right shoe size ? (we had an experience when we ordered the wrong size and getting a refund was a nightmare).
Thanks in advance. -

my experience of uni recorded lectures - too often with grainy vids and incredibly muddy audio. :?
For me personally, I enjoyed physical lectures and paying attention during lectures. There are things hints or information which cannot be tied down in recording. Certain opinions or views or personal techniques or methods would not be shared thru recordings. Lecturers who are skilful and engaging will stand out. They may crack jokes to get your attention etc. Such techniques are useful life skills to pick up too.
then i peeked the kid's RI recorded lecture.
it was a year-end revision class for all students taking the subject. think the recording is from a purposed facility (studio?). sharp views of teacher, ppt/whiteboard, and students (panned). very clear audio from BOTH teacher and students. students allowed to ask questions/interrupt(?) and teacher addressed students by their names.
could feel the enthusiasm of students and teachers through the unscripted recording. recording was made for students who had clashing schedule. kid who missed the 'live' class, got a lot from it, and wished he attended it in person.
just my $0.02 :salute: -

Were referring to regular physical lessons turned online/recorded.

If I may
Attending Taylor Swift’s concert can be inspiring but we still have to rely on recorded music for our day to day entertainments. Attending in person lectures can be inspiring but to do well in exams, students have to learn the content well and recorded lectures allow ease of repeatedly going through contents. Probably listening to recorded music for our daily entertainments plus attending concerts every few years is most economical for young screaming fans like us -
My two cents.
Experience and value are separate matters, that’s why parents werent happy when they had to pay same fees for normal physical tuition lessons turned online. -
Hi not sure where to ask so posting here I guess.
Anyone knows if a child has ESIS and subsequently obtains another MOE scholarship (eg Pre-U scholarship), is the Sch fees subsidy capped at $2,400 in total regardless of the number of MOE scholarships? -

One of my relatives has ESIS and MOE's HP scholarship. For the HP one, she got $1K cash iirc.
