Kinder Campus
-
Hi , I m new here. Pulled my daughter out of cs Montessori at nex and now desperately looking for another school for her. Her school experience at cs was traumatic. Someone recommended Kinder Campus at Somerville walk but I can’t find any reviews on it online at all. Would really appreciate some input. Any feedback on Kinder Campus?
Really hope to avoid any further negative school experience for my daughter. I am a little desperate cos I will be having baby number two in less than two months !
On a separate note, just a gripe… but do any of you mums and dads find it very hard to assess if a school is good or not just by doing a centre visit and trying your hardest to find reviews ?
Hope to hear fr someone soon !
Thank you very much! -

Hi,
my gal studied in kindercampus for the last 1 year 9 months (now she’s primary one in 2019) and she enjoyed going to kindercampus everyday. We transferred her from another neighborhood kindergarten when she was in k1 for 3 months because she hated going to that school and we only managed to get her to go at most 3 out days a week, and that was with much tears n effort. Luckily at kindercampus the teachers n principal was able to quickly make her feel comfortable and she settled down quickly and started liking school. At kindercampus students are taught based on ability, so you dun get bored or stressed on if you’re faster or slower. There’s a large collection of books which you can read at leisure. The school also has outdoor exercise in the morning n outdoor play as physical health is also emphasized. On top of that, soft skills like good social skills n ethics are taught as well. Lots of interesting projects n topics are explored as well, usually with excursion to get hands on experience of what was learnt in class. E.g. When learning about river and water, she had an excursion to coney island in punggol and also Newater plant at Tuas so she’d get a better understanding of what she learnt in class. Oh you can enrol your child in the enrichment classes that your child likes, such as piano, dance, taekwondo and maths olympiad etc. They are conducted after classes on certain days. E.g piano is every Wednesday afternoon etc. Say if your child doesn’t like any enrichment, I think she has lots of toys and games and craft work to do with her friends. But of course she can just pick up a book at the cosy corner too if she prefers. And then there’s school play and concert of various themes and if your child has a talent in singing and dancing etc, she will be spotted and she will be encouraged to develop her talent as well.
When you first visit the school (which is housed in a private detached house), you might not be impressed and might be even a bit skeptical. But do pop in at different hours and see how happy the children are and then you know your child might be just as happy there. If you happen to be there in the evening, you might even get to talk to some parents picking their children up and you can find out from them first hand about the school. School bus is available if you live not too far, but it’s just 2 bus stops from Nex at serangoon mrt. -
My kids are both in kindercampus and I’m very happy with my decision.
The facade of the building isn’t impressive but I wasn’t into the building or facilities. I would rather pay for the quality of the teachers than to pay for marketing and building. I looked into the worksheets provided and I’m very happy that the kids are exposed to many ways of thinking. It’s called the school of gifted but even if your kids aren’t gifted, they won’t stress your kids and will teach them accordingly to their ability. For example, my 3 years old was able to read, hence he was placed with the 4 years old kids during reading class. However, his motor skills arent fully developed so he will join his usual class for art and crafts.
This school believes that math has to be taught at the age of 4, so they will have all sorts of teaching method to try to get the kids to think out of the box. They do NOT introduce multiplication songs unlike other CC, that enable kids to memorise time table at young age as they want them to have a good concept of math and not on memory work. Every method has a reasoning and the parent is allowed to speak to the principal to feedback and to question her teaching method. She would also advise on how to bring up yours the right way. The principal also believes in lots of playing but playing the right kinds of games for brain stimulation. So rest assured that there’s lots of studying and playing. -
Hi! Wondering if I can get some recent reviews of the school? Considering to send my kids there. Thank you!
