Actually, I mostly wouldn't want to go back to pen and paper - too slow, and I would hate to have to constantly walk to and from the post office! I've pretty much lost the ability to write more than a sentence at a time! But I think people have got too complacent - thinking that computers can never go wrong or break down, and that anything that appears on a screen must be correct. Offline procedures are still needed, and simple dollar notes! And the human brain is still needed for higher level thinking.
I don't mind going back to pen and paper days. Have more insecurities nowadays.
The storing and retrieval of information is sufficient to me. The transfer out is worrying from the stories we read. We can have better IT professionals but the other sides can sometimes be more pro.
We always anticipate AI may take over some jobs..seems more efforts and time needed to react to those. Just hope we don't need to advance further.
AI is likely to replace some jobs, but not all - and someone still has to manage the AI. I just pity those who can't or won't learn the new jobs, and still insist that they only want to do the old jobs the old way. Something I'm having to remind my ASD daughter - it's hard for her.
I've signed up for a 2-day course on Generative AI later this month, using up some SkillsFuture credits. Will let you know if I learn anything interesting! -

Huh? Buying platform also got hit? What happened to the www? 🤔
I've been having issues with Lazada this morning - or maybe it's just with one seller. Messages didn't go through to seller.
Sometimes I'm inclined to go back to pen and paper! [Singpost will then have increased revenue.] -

We’re living in an age of dilemma.

Move fwd to typing our thots, our finger muscles degenerate together with the connecting brain muscles. Do everything online, worry abt phishing, spamming, scamming, disconnection & the likes. Unless we’re forced to go back to old sch handling large cash in pockets, we’ll be averse to exchanging germs ladened notes in the backdrop of Covid.
Think future generations with AI aid , will be a different human race. I rmbr reading an article years ago that our toe will be fused fr disused as it has very little function, over million years of evolution. I don’t think I’ll see ourselves looking like ET in my lifetime.

There’ll always be really rookies using technology for evil deeds instead of benefitting mankind’s progress. These are ppl out to challenge the authorities & rebel against their situation.

We see the Russians & Koreans tempering across borders to break into sovereign banking or defence sites & spreading falsehoods, targeted stirring ppl’s negative sentiments against their countries’ govt.
These days, our fierce scammers come fr fellows involuntarily housed in condos or guarded sites in Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam. Many youngsters in Vietnam are very savvy in twitching links that require sent out to scan yr keystrokes & steal or take over control of our bank accounts & credit cards. Saw these on CNA programs. -

No, not the the platform itself. That worked OK. Just trying to message the seller - may have been the seller's issue?

The engineers have relaxed the Error 1015 rules. On one rare occasion I got it, but I just change my URL to the home page and then it is gone. For those having problems, I think your IP has been blacklisted by the firewall. Let me check how long the IP will be blacklisted. To check your IP, open google chrome and type \"what is my ip\" You may then send me the ip address by PM and I will get them to remove it for now.

Oh, I hardly use online purchases. All mine delegated to DH to execute. 😉

We generally all do our own online purchases. In addition, I also do groceries, household stuff, Christmas shopping... so I think I do more online shopping that most of the family!
