Yes and no. Usual cases are safe to say that. But Dr will pick up oddities. For example, the sports sch kid, it is better to play safe. If we chose not to see Dr, responsibility will be on us.
Schools are another issue - if they can trust parents in the past, why not now?
Really, for basic viral infections, the doctors are just going through the motions. For the first few days, for normally healthy kids, there's really no need to see the doctor. If it persists, then yes, but think how much time would be saved if so many don't need to see a doctor.
But i admit, if i am the one falling sick, i would rather take a pill and rest at home. When it comes to our own children, it's a different matter. -

My parents always self-medicated us when I was young, and so I've continued the tradition. Especially when we lived overseas. I will take them to the doctor if they are still sick or getting sicker after a few days, or if something seems unusual.

We also self medicate even for covid. Exception is usually when there is inflammation and we need antibiotics or MC.
To me, Funz style is very good…no need waste resources if only MC is what we need. For school, usually I will just write in to notify as we were given few days per term/semester.
Fm what I read here seems polyclinic is not an option. Seriously speaking if ask me to go to a neighborhood clinic, I really don’t know where to go. Kids when they were young we followed the paediatric clinic that helped in their delivery. -

Walk-ins to polyclinic is not an option now. They are just overloaded. When I got back from overseas 10 yrs ago, I just went to the nearest one - for basic stuff, there really isn't much difference. However, it's not taking more registrations for Healthier Sg now, so my husband and I are probably going to pick another one which is now the nearest!

I dont know which clinic to sign up for my mum for healthier sg cos we are not encourage to clinic hop
& sometimes I may wnat to go to polyclinic for some consultation or referral … hmmm… -
I’ve never been to a polyclinic. I will find a clinic nearest to home and that will be the family doctor. Don’t fancy having to travel to see a doctor when unwell.
In any case, we tend to self medicate or for me most of the time, just ride out the discomfort and let the virus run its course.
For now since both DH and I are still earning and medical is covered by our companies, it is unlikely that we will go to the polyclinic. Maybe when we retire and older and have chronic ailments that needs to be managed, we might downgrade our medical insurance and go the polyclinic and govt hospital route. -

You can change clinic - up to 4 times during the \"initial enrolment period\" (no idea how long that is), and once a year after that.

If you apply for a CHAS card (any colour), GPs can now refer patients to govt hospitals as subsidised patients. You don't have to go to a polyclinic. That is something new that changed some time back - I only just discovered this! -

'Will I be allowed to change the GP/ polyclinic after I have successfully..'
Why it looks like Polyclinic is one of the options.. -
I never use the CHAS before. It is good to know can refer to govt hospitals with subsidies. We pay quite a bit for hospitalization insurance yearly but never use it coz claim upon hospitalization only. So I like to go polyclinic to get referral.

I thought I read someone mentioned the CHAS can be found in our Singpass…is that true? Where to find it? I just clicked to check around and noticed that under Covid vaccination my status is Vaccinated (3doses intotal) but for dds…Additional Dosage needed-expired dated…’ I wonder if it is because they haven’t go for 3rd dose? And if after 3rd dose, it will be (always) appear as Vaccinated?
