If yr clinic is partnering SingHealth or NUS Health, the medication are as per PolyClinic charges.
Private clinics are unlikely to receive govt subsidies as compared with polyclinics.
For Healthier SG to take off, would the medications prescribed by the private clinics receive govt subsidies? -

Yup! Some of my medication costs only $2. This is a family doc that had been with us for >10 years.
That's why I would take the cough medicine from the clinic! And the cold meds (if non-drowsy). Most of the rest we already have at home usually, and can probably get cheaper.
Medicines at pte clinics don't have a subsidy, but they do buy generics in bulk, so will often be cheaper than buying from pharmacies. Under Healthier SG, I believe they can buy in bulk with polyclinics (or they are discussing doing so), which means that the prices will be closer to polyclinic prices. In any case, with polyclinic queues so long now, pte clinics mean less waiting in germ-laden surroundings. Maybe your polyclinic is one of the less crowded ones? -

I gave my family doc a long list of medication for this travel. The usual cough mixture, diahorea, vomitting, indigestion, etc all under $10. But for cream for varicose vein inflammation , gastric cost me a little more as it’s not the common list for travelers.
Cough, flu med more expensive it seems
Paracetamol is not expensive if can dont take the more branded ones, can buy online also. Usually I buy for dh coz he travels and he self medicate. We don't use much in SG so don't keep stock nowadays. When I had covid cannot find any so took children's paracetamol.
At the moment, I’m standing at the Buckingham Palace gate with a beautiful white horse & a handsome police on it. I wished for some heat pack for the cold this morning.

For cough mixture, diarrhoea, vomitting, indigestion etc total < $10 is reasonable.
I didnt know there is cream for varicose vein inflammation which is useful for long haul flights. -
Come to think of it, I dont have medication for vomitting, diarrhoea and indigestion at home.

Risk assessment! I don't have these either as my family rarely needs them. In fact, I can't remember the last time we took any of these. So I don't stock them as they will probably get out of date and thrown away uneaten. If in Singapore, there is less need to stock up as we can always go (or ask a family member) and buy something when we need it. Perhaps I might buy some if we are going somewhere where the risk is higher, but again, my family hasn't needed them for years, and there are pharmacies in most towns.

And actually, for diarrhoea and vomitting, we usually DIY with home treatments rather than take medication. For indigestion, we tough it out! But we don't get that as we tend to eat moderately and plainly. -
No we never get those med too. If diarrhoea just go toilet and get it all flushed out…clean colon afterwards haha.
Yes dont stock too much med. at home. We did that during covid and expired. -
