I’ve to take into consideration travel needs, as it’s definitely not like home where u just make a call to family doc for any urgent treatment.

In a way, we Need to hv some basic medication to administer self-medication. In Europe, u’re not familiar with available medical care & I rmbr in Austria, u’ve to make prior appt. I was only fortunate to hv my frd who hv a doc to treat my varicose flare up. If I hv to stay in washroom or in bed, then there’s no holiday.

I Brot all my muscle relaxant cream coz after walking & shopping, my back will be tensed.

We will keep our travel medications for a few months before disposing expired medicine. If they were open for use, then I will dispose before flying home.
Yea understand. If travel at foreign countries so long better to bring more than less. Food and weather are different. With med in luggage you guys can be much more at ease.

Touch wood so far not much diarrhoea, flu, cough etc. Guess the exposure to places not as clean as SG helps when young? Dd2 issues for this year aside..they can have fever up to 41, take paracetamol for a week and still self medicate. One have recurring fever on monthly basis under a paediatrician for so long then only discovered it was due to an inflammation on another part of body and went for 2 surgeries to correct it as that particular function has not matured yet. Now ok already.

Another dd once her fever kept coming back then went to a home physician and diagnosed due to inflammation of an organ..so took his medicine and I asked if I should continue with my own fever medication. He has given me a valuable advice.. the root cause found, do I think if she still needs the fever med? Haha..true la.

So as of before this year..they belong to those luckier kids group, easier to bring up type. Fever because of some inflammation on other part of body, which may be a bigger issue compared to some..give and take la.
41 and still self-medicating for a week? That's pretty long - I think I would have brought them to a doctor by Day 2 at that temperature. My limit for self-medication is about 39. And your girls have had quite a few medical events!

My girls have had an easier time - fevers not so high, not so long; food poisoning a few times but usually only 2 days or so, and nothing else very major. The only time they saw a pediatrician (since discharge from hospital at birth) was when they had to get their P5 jabs - they missed theirs because we were overseas, and our GP didn't have the jabs (because most kids would get theirs in school). I'm fortunate that I have medical friends and relatives - I sometimes call and ask \"Do I need to worry?\", and mostly they say \"carry on for another day or 2 and see how\". And by then they will be clearly getting better.

Thinking back I was really bold. One dd has 3 surgeries in total by 5yo. We are lucky they are ok now. My mom’s childhood friend’s son cannot make it when he was staying alone with fever. It was sad.

I’ve brot along my statin. Last week I had a short, small heart arrest & thankful for early intervention by my specialist. Had tight chest on/off for last couple of years & only when I sought 2nd opinion did my new private specialist identified plaque in blood vessels which somehow was missed out in the last few checks at NUH. Flabbergasted! Thank God for saving Grace.
When you are back to Singapore, may check with your TCM doctor whether you should take \"血府逐瘀湯\" which is for 治療血瘀胸部. I have taken it few months ago and it helped to bring my blood pressure back to normal range.

Dhamotil, novomin, zyrtec, gaviscon, paracetamol, plasters, eyedrops, inhaler. This is my usual travel 1st aid kit. Maybe this year we shall throw in a few covid test kit.

Will be going for the latest covid jab this week. Will bring DS along for his jab as well. Both DS and I have never gotten Covid. Last thing we want is to be infected while on holiday. Told DH to get his as well since he travels so much. DD was just infected not too long ago and she is not travelling with us this year so she can delay her jab.

Talking abt tummy issues. I have no daily routine due to fasting. Now that I m out of fasting, I m feeling so glad to have the daily routine back.
