I was telling DD that next year we will avoid travelling in December. Especially now that both DD and DS are out of school so we have that flexibility.

Travelling in December has always been a rush for me. There are many things to settle for the end of the year and before the start of the following year.

As for travelling with parents, I am glad we have many memories of that as we have been doing yearly family trips up until Covid struck. Dad has said that he will no longer be able to join us for long trips so what we will do is plan short trips, staycation or even cruise with them.

It is such a blessing to hear how one brings their aged parents along for holidays. 共享天伦之乐。

I always ask my kids this noob question during holidays, “will you bring me along for holidays when I’m old?” And happy to say, I always (and still) get, “yes, yes, yes” as a collective response from my girls.

During Covid, the best option apparently was cruising & we tried to go for more but only managed to catch 1 coz the operators kept cancelling & we kept our credits.

Come to think of it, thankful that FIL had one boarding which fulfilled his wish for travelling in a way. We had to buy pre-existing condition insurance & map out all the possible scenarios to be “operationally prepared” in event he has to be airlifted during an emergency. Thankfully, we nvr need to activate any emergencies, but it’s good to be prepared.

Digging out our winter wear. They have been vacuum packed for almost 5yrs. Need only those for mild winter, not that cold, where we are heading. Forecasted to be mostly in the teens and mid-high single digits.

Now I m buying more sensibly. 1 better one will do. I got a ultra light down able to be rolled into pillow type for dd2 as she can still wear jiejie’s old knee length down jacket. For dd1, we get a longer thicker but lighter down coupled with ‘wind breaker’ jacket whereas I m still using my old ultra light down knee length jacket rollable into pillow type…really value for money. Inside I try not to buy too heavy layers. Easier to keep and easier to move around. Anyways dds and I can take cold weather quite ok. Not much shopping expected just eat and moving around will do

Today is cloudy but no rain.

This type of cloudiness is typical of year-end.

Today’s temperature is very nice and cool. I like cos no need to sweat (which is very rare in SG without aircon).

It’s very cold & windy Sunday morning. Going to experience an English church service here in 2 hours. 😃
