ipad not avail at booklist/bookshop for kids entering in 2023. may be same for kids entering 2024.

RI PDLP (iPad) briefing (model/specs/costs/subsidies/ordering/payment/collection/dates ...) for parents will be org by school. briefing is in Jan, however distribution of ipad is at start of term 2 (Apr).

Some parents wanted to buy/use their own ipads, and it was \"discouraged\" during the briefing. school will load DMA (usage controls) on all ipads before allowing for use in school.

Heard that kids don’t really need to bring textbooks? All will be loaded into the iPad? Eg math.. meaning don’t need to buy the textbooks and just get the softcopy and use will suffice?

- none of the text books (on booklist for Y1 2023) are avail on the ipad
- with exception of science and math subjects, there is extensive use of the hardcopy textbooks
- teacher gives out printed notes and references, and in term 4 more notes are made avail on ipad
- in class use of ipad is around 10% of time. mainly for classpoint, onenote, SLS, submitting work, quizzes
- in class INAPPROPRIATE use of ipad is around 60% of the time. for gaming, browsing, comic reading, etc.... :spank:

- actually no soft copy of any of y1 2023 textbooks are avail on ipad
- math & science subject teachers handsout copious amount of printed notes, and teach from these notes. do not recall need to bring math or science txtbk to class.
- need to bring tb for all other subjects. teachers will refer to tb, and also ask students to mark-up/annotate on the tb.
