My DH’s niece and nephew had tuition for almost all subjects before A levels. I am not sure if they need tuition but SIL was a FTWM so she felt bad she can’t help them w their school work so she engaged tutors for them. I observed that my niece and nephew did very well in university on their own w/o tuition. So no need to think too much about fear of over reliance on tuition.

      This world is cruel. 笑贫不笑娼。
It it the outcome that matters. University admission is based on grades and no one cares if your grades are based on your own effort or obtained with the help of tuition
If tuition helps..I also feel better go for tuition for chances to get better grades.

Yesterday did feel a little sad for dd in between the pockets of time.

Oh no..I noticed I have pain at my upper right hip too. Really getting older liao
As you get older, joints and muscles will get less flexible. If you want to maintain better mobility, regular stretching of all parts of the body is the key, preferably daily. There are youtube videos that describes some of these, or websites with photos. You can spread them out through the day, fitting a few in at set times (e.g. after waking, after meals, etc) to build the habit. I've been doing this for more than 10 yrs already!

DH hv been doing his chiropractic therapy exercises after his slip disc & I’ve been doing all the movements too. Then recently, I found an online taichi with many similar exercises & more that addresses beach’s, neck, shoulder & other areas. So, picked up quite a few new movements to improve my circulation. If u let me I can try share the later link with you.

Anyways on the topic of tuition to boost grades etc, it’s really subjective la. Some people look at the ROI for other aspects of their investments but do not look at the ROI on this tuition investment on their kids. Got friend sent kids to at TLL since kindy. Fast forward to pri 6, seems like TLL or not, grades still same. It seems common amongst my FTWM friends to simply send kids for tuition regardless of ROI just because they are too busy or unwilling to invest time to teach themselves.

I remember one parent saying, the total amount one pays for tuition for a child nowadays, could be enough to send them to private uni with local presence, or the higher amt can be equivalent to go overseas (oz). why pay so much and only to get into local uni. There are options out there. Yes, some parents rather kids to stay in sg and not go overseas, not sure?
