Your DH got a surprise because you still want to push forwards your worry and your will on dd2 without care the feeling of her.
To : dd2 - I have already tried my best to convince your mom to let you pursuit your dream but it seems it is not success this time.[/quote]
not this serious la. So far dd is ok. She agreed to show her results first then her CCA. She mumbled that things will still be the same..have results and have cca  she could take it as her motivation.

Agreed with you about kids being fully engaged.
I think I am quite different. I donโt need my kids to chase the last points but I want them to be fully occupied in their school life holistically which means I want them to take on more than they require. But this mama has no power or influence over her kids. Her kids prefer to nuay which this mama has no control over. I did warn that any overseas education has to be earned by themselves if they so desire.
Similarly told kids that they will need get a scholarship if they want go overseas. DD got it and \"announced\" she would be leaving for overseas, any discussion was not so relevant since it was funded. -

Again, I don't want to be a wet blanket, but are you sure that she will be able to get into the CCA after a year? That seems to be what you are saying. I don't how it is with that particular school, but my impression is that some CCAs are very difficult to get into if the student doesn't join in Sec 1. You may want to check as it will be very disappointing for your daughter if she gets the grades but still can join the CCA.

Asking for a friend, and posting here as there was no response on the Autism thread.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good private psychologist who can do the assessment for Autism? For a teenager. Thanks! -

I remember reading that your elder got A for CL in O level so sound like your experience is not so bad? What is non desirable outcome. I often misinterpret nowadays. Can be no A is non desirable. Or really C and below?
Thanks all mommies for your very valuable inputs. Really appreciate it ..all kids are different and their differences also change over time and we seem to be forever learning on how to guide them.
We tried our own mtd and we see quite a non desirable outcome. Dh would like to continue let them have their says. But I m quite worried. So I think we may go for the middle way path. This morning another session of crying..really buay tahan right..but she later kind of accepted it..this time round I bring her beloved soft toy in..to help remind her of her other aims. After a good cry, things seem fine to me.
One side of me still wanted to check with school on the commitments etc but another side of me tell me better chop it off. I hope I can be determined enough this time round. My dh got a surprise this morning when I told him I don't mind if dd were to be unhappy with me. I have explained to dd and I hope she could really understand me.
Crying due to CCA selection? It is only Dec; they have until 2nd week of Jan to decide correct? Do be mindful of kid's mental well being. Dont want kid to feel the drastic decision parent is making is to punish her for her PSLE results and scarred her before sec school even started.
Didnt parents swarm to choose affliated pri school so that they have less PSLE stress? So if she gets to proceed to her affliated sec school, that is not non-desirable. kid has not even started secondary school. Quite alarming. So what if can go IP. Look at the boy in IP in the news. Any happiness? desirable outcome? He should be quite brilliant, can study O level on his own in prison and achieved stellar results.
Kids being smiling (most of the time) and by our side is the ultimate importance. Nothing else matters. -

Agree. Our school may be different. Cos we have affliation bonus points, so CCA points are not so critical as compared to other schools, I was told. And yes, require auditions. Not easy to mingle with peers and juniors as newbie.

Also if she joins in sec 2 (2025), SYF year, she may not get to participate in SYF.
For me, I think sec 1 is ok to experiment, but sec 2 can monitor closer to get choice of subj combi. Similarly, sec 3 can let loose a bit and sec 4 โฆ well, automatically, the pressure will build up. -
00skyblue00, the non desirable outcome was referring to elder gal. Yes A1 and thatโs may be all. We talking abt difficult going to Poly.

Slmkhoo, I always wonder if confirming it still helps?
