Me? Revenge travel? I only travelled twice this year - both to Thailand for a few days, once was official, once for a short family break. That's all! I cancelled my Egypt tour - that would have been revenge travel, I guess.

Drove in to JB last night. I observed from historical charts that Thursday nights were supposed to be off peak after 9pm. On average it takes around 30-40 mins to cross the Causeway. But last night at 9pm, the Beat the Jam app showed 224 mins of waiting time! We got a shock and delayed setting off till midnight. Luckily we took only 60 mins to clear both checkpoints.

Not sure why, wonder if it could be due to the sudden announcement of closure of bus lane and e-gate at JB customs from 15th Dec onwards? Which could have resulted in travellers rushing in on 14th Dec?
Less than 60mins last night at 930pm but via Tuas. Ard 50min or less. Thank goodness.

But crowd level is not so high, very few counters yes.

I would love to go to Egypt too. Go see the pyramids and be Indiana Jones for a bit. Sigh...

Less than 60 mins is considered very lucky for a Friday evening!

ok/safe to drive in /park your car there, will it be \"flashy\" or not?
yes i been to mid valley ( like vivo city) ksl, city sq last yr
Saw your post yesterday and it gave us scary thoughts! My car more than 1yr old so not considered new anymore.

When we reached hotel at 9pm… hub asked me should we go check if our car was still there. 😂

But I cannot already cos my legs are giving way after shopping for 10hrs non-stop in Mid Valley.

It's only in Singapore that a 1-yr-old car is \"not new\"! I think it should still be considered new in most countries.

10 hrs! I am tired after 2 hrs.

Initially I wanted to go KSL Mall cos I stayed there twice before. But a friend strongly recommended this Mid Valley Southkey, so I gave it a try.

Once I entered Mid Valley, I felt I was in Paragon with grand, beautiful granite flooring and a chandelier. When I reached level 2, the flooring become ceramic tiles and the feel is like at Vivo City. If walk to the basement, it felt like IMM. 😂

Overall, I rate it 8/10. The supermarket, Village Grocer is too small. I think it’s a very nice mall for Singaporeans. More than half the mall was filled with Singaporeans.

Last night for dinner, we tried Quivo Restaurant after I read about its good reviews. The food was indeed very nice like the Truffles fries, Flaming wings, Mac and Cheese, Salmon with Parmesan crust… Will go back again next trip.

My friend took the KTMB train alone to shop at City Square Mall JB. Went in in the early weekday morning to buy things from pharmacy, some bread/Donuts etc., then take a 5 min train ride back to SG at 4pm. You may want to try that after sch reopens.

To share some unpleasant experiences we had just now. I bought a train ticket from easybook.com for DD2 to go back on her own as she has something on tonight. But to our horror, she couldn’t enter the CIQ checkpoint as there is no record of her for the train ride. Went to KTM counter to check and was informed that easybook.com is not an authorized ticketing agent!

Poor DD2 had to cross over the two borders by foot alone. So scary leh… sob sob…
