It is a school with Buddhist backgrd where Buddhist values and character devt is of great importance. It used to be a v humble school in Little India area with only 2 classes per level. That was pretty "miserable". Since it moved to Edgedale area, it has improved a lot over the years in terms of staff, students quality…which will eventually lead to better results.

Hi all, I have heard a lot abt the horror stories abt primary school registeration but after reading thru the forum, i must say i would not have ever imagine it to be like this…

need some advice here, my girl is coming to 3yo and we are living in Punggol and are within 1km from Mee Toh Primary, what can i do to ensure guaranteed getting in?

I am not too sure but i understand if i am not ex-student of mee toh, i will be in Phase 2B. If i go for PV, do i still need to go for balloting? and if yes, what are my chances w or w/o PV?

Thanks so much in advance for any inputs!!!

              Cheers,
              San

                hi viosbbs,

(CKS, one more potential viewer to my thread 😉)

Nothing is guaranteed (we can't guarantee whether they'll reduce intake or what), but you can improve your chances (reduce disappointment etc) by reading through the past stats and coming through our threads.

You may want to take a look at this http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=712 - the stats link to start with.

Only pvs and those with clan associations and grassroots leaders fulfilling certain criterias (see the relevant links in the stated thread) are under Phase 2B. if you are non, then it's phase 2C for you.

Unfortunately, we seems to only have last year's stats for schools in punggol area. Fortunately, you still has this and next year to monitor the results.

Welcome to the rat race! 😉

                      Thanks jedamum!

                      very informative read!

really appreciate the ones who put in the info in this forum, 造福人群!

Anyway, our first choice was nan chiau which i think no chance liao because it is more than 2km. Even with PV, it is out! haiz…

So for now, we are aiming Mee Toh in Punggol (less than 1km) and compassvale (1.9km) in Seng Kang. Looking at past history, it seems with PV, should not need ballot for Phase 2B.

Anyone can enlighten whether my deduction above is correct?
Also, anyone has any comments on the 2 schools?
and lastly, when should i start the PV, my girl is born in 2006.

Thanks a lot and hope everyone has a good day!

                      San

Yeah ur deduction is correct, based on info so far. But I must re-emphasise that the stats change ever year, so I cant guarantee it be the same during the year u register ur girl, esp for MeeToh which seems to be gaining in popularity.

For a 2006 child, u will register in year 2012. Hence u need to start PV work lastest by Jul 2011. U can start writing in to various schools from 3Q/4Q 2010.
