I watched the series and found it very interesting! I read the book too.
You can read the book Nudge too - it's a little dated, but a best seller.
It's a great introduction to Behavioural Economics. In a style and language that we can all appreciate. Not too cheem. -

I remember, when I was living overseas in a small town, it seemed that the supermarket near my home changed the location of items just to keep the staff occupied - they kept moving things around, until the staff couldn't remember either! And it wasn't just a one-off incident - it happened every few weeks.
slmkhoo, we cannot be more alike in this aspect.
I got irritated when the usual supermarkets I go to reorganised their shelves. I usually know what I need/want to get and will make a beeline for those shelves. When they shift things around I have to reorientate. Waste time and sometimes miss out items that I went cos cannot find. -

Latest edition is 2021. I read the older edition borrowed from NLB; not sure if they have this latest one too.

You see, the supermarkets want you to spend more time in the shop browsing and looking for stuff, so you buy more? :rotflmao:

but seriously, what I miss most about supermarkets in the US and UK are the wide aisles! -

Lol. Actually I was in the auto checkout line, and the clerk made me pay $0.02 via credit card :faint:
You are the winner, chief :udaman: I thought I was not too bad ..$81.56 to give some allowance on errors. -

To me, some places are for nostalgic feeling. I don't mind it is old. It is the old that I (some) want.
Even if I were going to try to get the return vouchers (which I'm not), I wouldn't explore other supermarkets. I'm familiar with the ones I frequent, and that's enough to remember already 4! 2 SS, and 2 FP Finest. I already was so fed up when 2 of them were renovated recently - everything got moved around and I had to hunt for them. And the shelf signs are really not very helpful. -

If that is the same SS..yeah all changed. Even the ang ku kueh at 90% section fm previous one. The AKK turned bad very quickly sometimes I need to throw half..but I will still buy.
After the SS renovation, I just asked the staff who were nearby, where did xyz items get shifted to. They are very friendly and helpful especially if u ask in Chinese. Agree that there are no helpful signs, unlike in CS and FP where i just look at the category signs hanging above the aisles.
I used to work part time as a supermarket cashier in AU. We were supposed to memorize the aisle numbers and what category of food they held, in case customers asked. But generally that info was the domain of the stockists on staff.[/quote] -

Never works on me! I shop with a list, and am very focused. My family knows that if they don't get their requests on the list, it doesn't get bought!

By the end of my time in the UK, I was using those trolleys that could hold a baby and a toddler. No way those could work in Singapore. Even 2 of their regular trolleys won't fit in Sg supermarket aisles.
