Revisiting this topic, if I got into a school based on 1km registered in 2023, when does the 30 months calculation start? Does it mean by earliest Dec 2025 I can move away from 1km?

The 30 months start at he beginning of P1 registration, which is around early June every year. So it should be January 2026 that you can move.

          Hello,

My kid got into a primary school via Phase 2CS With NO balloting involved. Does anyone have any idea if I am subjected to 30 month period of living in registered address during p1 registration?

If there was no balloting, there are no restrictions on where you want to move at anytime 🙂

Hi! Would like to ask on P1 registration, Anyone with similar experience, please share! Thanks!

              1) for P1 reg, only 1 parent to apply right?
              2) if both parents living separately, with different NRIC address, is that possible? Eg: due to spouse frequent traveling, moved back to parents due to don’t want to stay with in laws.
              3) do we need to do any declaration if the couple address is different?
              4) child birth cert address doesn’t matter right?

              Thank you!

Yes. Only 1 parent need to register. I don't think you need to declare anything if your addresses are different since only 1 parent is registering. The birth cert address doesn't matter.

Hi all, I’ve looked around the forum but it seems no one has had the same situation as I do.

My current home is <1km of the school we want to register for, but we had gotten a BTO which is estimated to be ready in the third quarter of 2026. This new BTO is further away from the school (between 1km and 2km)

The thing is we can’t be certain when the BTO will be ready, but we cannot move in to the new BTO before Jan 2027 because we will need to stay in the current flat for at least 30 months in order to be eligible for the 1km priority.

In the event that the new BTO is indeed ready by the 3rd quarter of 2026, what options have we got? Is it possible to drag out our occupancy at the old flat for another few months until we meet the 30 month requirement? Or what else can we do?

                      Boss. Not 100% true.

Restriction occurs when someone gains an advantage due to distance.
                      (Balloting is secondary)

                      Example
                      2c
                      40 slots
                      60 applicants- 40 sg + 20 pr

All sg got in without balloting
But the sg gained an advantage during this stage and thus needs to fulfill the 30 month stay requirement.

You will be able to delay key collection of the BTO from HDB due to your extenuating circumstances (need to fulfill the legal requirement to MOE). U can double check with HDB on this point.
