My daughter is considering EJC as her first choice and her net point is 4 (6-2). Coming from a neighbourhood secondary school, she prefers a chill environment rather than too competitive one. Since the school is mix of IP and JAE students, in general how is the school culture and environment. We went to the open house, and she’s happy with the school. but as a kiasu parent, im a bit worried if she can manage amongst the IP students. Can parents of EJC advise me on your opinion about the school. Thank you

I can't answer anything about EJC. However, a 6-2 can hang (if not excel) with anyone anywhere.

If she's happy with the school, submit the choice(s) and call it a day. Not to dismiss the concerns or anxiety, but have confidence in the child; she will be fine.
Best of luck and regards. -

If she went to the OH and likes the environment, that will be the most authentic than to hear from forum posts where anyone can say anything.

What I can say is people make friends with people who are like themselves. They don’t make friends based on how long they have known each other. So coming from the same school doesn’t mean anything. Besides the IP students come from 3 IP different schools, not one. -

Yup, I would say the school culture/environment is not the cut-throat type. I find my DD’s friends hardworking but not ultra competitive. It is just right for my daughter.
When selecting a school, we need to know our kids’ character. Some thrive in ultra competitive environment, some will wither / suffer anxiety attacks etc. -

Indeed one big hurdle in life has been cleared.
No matter go to which JC, all the A level students better work hard as the results would determine which Uni courses they get into.
