Then u are aiming for EL A1 and CL A1 yes? Possible to get CL A1 without tuition? U decide ba.

Sec 1 narrative zuowen needs to plan story curve just like how she did for PSLE English. Let her read some model zuowen for refresher on how to do it…[/quote]
I don't (dare) to aim for A1. And yea you are right if need aim good results for CL (which actually covered in the same HCL tuition), need early tuition too. Thanks, noted on the story curve. Will tell dd.

It would be good to remind the children not to take Sec 1 as \"honeymoon period\" for Chinese language - quite often, there's a drop in effort 😓 (mind-set - not \"compulsory\" result in O Level as in can rely on other subjects' results, time management challenge due to increased subjects, peer influence - other's attitude towards the subject etc.).

If they do not have a clear understanding of the technical terms learnt in Sec 1 (mainly those under 人物描写手法 and 修辞手法), most will find Sec 2 much more challenging as they will come into contact with more technical terms relating to expository and discursive text (a little similar to the \"gulf\" between Pri 4 and 5 which some children encounter). Similarly, if their exposure to Chinese language is limited to sch hours & syllabus materials, it's going to be an uphill task trying to seek improvement in grades (they should at least put in effort in the verbal aspect).

By ~ term 2 of Sec 3, all components that will be tested in O Level will be taught and the remaining time between then and O Level would be mainly focused on expansion of range of vocab and consolidation of language expression.

Pretty much a case of 先苦后甜.

Yes. I'm the living example of someone who took Sec 1 Chinese, and subsequently up to Sec 4, as a honeymoon period. 😓 I was from St Andrew's, and somehow took upon the cohort's view that learning Chinese is \"not cool\". So I just concentrated on my other subjects and ignored Chinese. I am close to 60 now, and that is one of my greatest regret.

                Hi Reenie,

                Here's the answering technique/\"template\":

                https://i.imgur.com/5YxfWX0.jpeg\">

1 = state the 1st example from the passage
2 = state the 2nd example from the passage
(these 2 examples are contrasting in nature)
3 = state the 论点 (argument)
