I wanted to post this morning but holding back..I would prefer our G to be stingy a bit also in terms of giving back as vouchers/grants etc.

In fact, many of my friends feedback that the G anyhow gives out ang baos.

I would think such ang baos should be given to those really in need. Those staying in 5room flat and above may not find $200 as useful as those staying in 2rm rental flat.

Give us chicken wings later recoup from the higher property tax and income tax. Not to mention the 1% increase in GST in a few days’ time!

Agree that if it goes to those in need, it's the right thing to do.

If the increase of 1% this time round has same effect..time to pull my belt tighter liao. Yea I agree, help those really need first, use the money as if it is from our own pocket. Calculate till grass difficult to grow, 50cts as big as cart wheel..we always hear fm our grandparents time

Same here - we've finished ours already, and I didn't even spend a lot to try to get those return vouchers. I also like the way that half of them are specifically for the neighbourhood shops and hawkers.

I just hope they don’t increase property and income taxes anymore or capped the reliefs.

There was an unexpected extra in quantum collected from the property tax (due to annual values of higher-end properties going up in quantum, in tandem with the market), so i wonder where that extra money will be put to use?
