Anyone familiar with Seeds Learning Centre’s Math and English programs? I have heard that there are many Tao Nan and Kong Hwa students in the centre.

              Hi,

I am looking for a english enrichment for my DS (N2). Not too sure which one will be a better option.

Teachers from SEEDs is a existing preschool teacher where as teachers from LC are degree holders.

Appreciate parents with experience to share with me their views. Thanks.

                Hi Kenixlee75,

I don't have any experience with LC. But I ( stay-home mum living in hougang) personally drive my 2 kids to Seeds D'learning house @ Tembeling centre (previously they are @ Katong Mall) MON-Fri , since my elder girl start K2 in jan 2008 with them.

I started both kids FULL day child care at Cherie Heart playhouse @ upp serangoon since 18mths, since it is near hougang home.

The reason why I go through DAILY traffic hazzle & long journey can tell alot about how good is this SEEDs D'learning house.

Though stay-home mum, I studied part-time course, so I had to put them in full day child care since 18mths. Through my elder girl's E&P abacus sch principal recommendation (she transfer her son from pat schhouse to seeds), I check out SEEDS & was very impressed with them.

Seeds FOUNDers are 2 sisters , who quit teaching in AI_TONG pri to start this pre-sch. Through word of mouth, many parents transfer their kids to Seeds. I heard they have no vacancy for most class (though I cant confirm).

Pls Call them 62477271. Before enrolling your kid, they need to assess your kid's level. As this is one-to-one kind of daily worksheets, catered to your kid individual pace of learning. Meaning if your kid (say K2) is ahead of her K2 peers, she can learn ahead , say P1/2 syllabus. IN FACT, all their K2 are taught the whole P1 syllabus , so that they will not be TAKEN aback by the \"NEW concept\" taught in P1/2. I even talked to some parents who had started their 2-3 yr old kids earlier in Seeds, by the time their kids reach K2, they already learning P2/3 stuff.

Besides academic readiness (taught in AM) , they have holistic curriculum in PM session ( for those who let kids stay till 5pm), eg, literature Art, chinese immersion, cookery, science experiment, writing journal, Project work, etc. They just recently organised FAMILY DAY event last fri 2jul @ east coast park.

each class max 14 kids, with 2 teachers. For more info, call them.

My elder girl , born jan 2002, completed k2 when she (5yrs old) should be in k1 level . So I don't want her to repeat k2 level in cherie hearts again . When she was assessed by Seeds in jan 2008 (k2), she was not even \"P1 ready\" as compared to seeds existing K1/2 kids..

Luckily, she pick up quickly & catch up with progress of the rest of seeds existing K2 kids.. She now enjoyed nanyang primary sch very much & look forward to sch every day.

Hope this helps... I hope I won't be penalised for sharing such experience..

                  Hi xi-Fu,

I heard good comments from frens abt SEEDS D’Learning like what u mentioned.

Thanks for sharing yr experience. Can check with u, my DS is not attending
daily preschool/childcare at SEEDS but I was considering signing
her for the weekly young readers class.

I also thought of sending my DD (p1) for the weekly young writers class.

Appreciate if you can share yr experience for the weekly enrichment. Thks.

Personally, i didn't put elder girl(p2) in their weekly yound writers class, as she busy with other cca eg,competitive swimming lessons daily. As for DD2(k2), existing seeds k2 student, she attending full day class, with all reading / writing included.. so DD2 didn't sign up their pm weekly yound readers class.

If you search under Seeds in this kiasuparents forum, i think there is another thread , talking about it. sorry , don't know how to copy to here.
maybe other parents has comments on enrichment prog. sorry can't help you here.

                        Hi Xi-Fu,

So glad to hear about your comments on Seeds at Tembeling Centre, I’ve been searching arounds for recent comments on Seeds and so happy that you shared.

I paid a visit to Seeds and spoke to the principal, who was a nice, gentle and patient lady. I liked the overall cleanliness, and the small ratio of students to teachers. Saw the compositions on the boards, and was very impressed. The principal however did not mention about the PM sessions, I was not aware that they could actually stay till 5pm, or it applies to older kids only? my son is 2.5 years old.

I visited them on a sat, so i will be going down again on a weekday, because i need to hear and meet the teachers personally. Teachers are very important i feel. Do you have any comments on the teachers at Seeds?

thanks for sharing and good to know your are satisfied with them.
