The one I saw in SF website was $870 by another service provider under “Domestic Cleaning”.

The $172.80 one was from NTUC (link provided by bbbay)

The $870 course fee you saw, it is basic, intermediate or advance cleaning?

NTUC Learning Hub also have a cleaning course with a $880 fees:

The one I saw on SF website was a basic course and the course description is similar to the one offered by NTUC LH’s.

Weird. Why the link you sent me earlier, I only need to pay $172.80 (before GST) if I sign up directly from NTUC LH website but if I were to register through SF website, the washing toilet course costs $880.

The SF website can be very confusing. Very similar courses can be offered by different training providers with different fees. There are probably some differences, but it may take close scrutiny to make comparisons. And I suppose there is some leeway for differences in fees.

You also need to compare the same thing - Full fee is for without SF subsidy; nett fee is after SF subsidy; and there's higher subsidy for those over 40 yo. These details are on the training provider's website. I haven't tried very hard to figure it all out - as I mentioned earlier, I find the SF quite confusing!

The $172.8 posting is for basic cleaning. I suspect the $172.8 is after SF subsidy? If it indeed the case, before subsidy , the fee could be $300+, close to those other providers’ fees on SF site

The $880 is for advance cleaning

Just to add, that even with CC courses, for similar courses, diff trainer s’times reflects diff fees. This is not inclusive of material fees.

With privately run training centres, the course fee can vary depending on the level of recognized skills. When I attended a soap making course, it was conducted by a Polytechnic lecturer herself & she brot her Lab Assistant to help handle the distribution of diff chemicals due to safety of handling. With SkillsFuture, and my past 60 benefits for fee discount, I hardly pay much fee.

With SkillsFuture, you can take professional courses to upgrade or just hobby courses. Diff age groups will enjoy further benefits besides utilizing SkillsFuture funds. Keeps me active & push dementia abay.

Received a call from NTUC learning lab regarding my course enquiry. Rep told me the full course fee for cleaning toilet is $600+. Residence will receive subsidy, and above 40 yo will receive further subsidy, bringing down the fee to $175. And can use skill future credit to further offset the $175 fee. As others have shared, there are many tiers and other subsidy, on top of SFC. Do check around for more discount

courses like coffee barista, soap making etc are just one off or a few sessions?

                    fully funded by SkillsFuture credits?
may want to drag my bull to attend 🙂
                    Tks.

Both Coffee Barista & Soapmaking runs 2-days. Attendance are taken both mornings & after lunch breaks. Lunch was provided for both these courses that i attended, but don’t expect high quality gourmet tho. I’ve many coursemates who went as a couple. It’s fun & enjoyable with yr handiworks to bring home.

SkillsFuture can be utilized for part of the course, whilst further discounted fees applies to diff age-groups at diff rates. I paid under $30 for each course.
