The Chinese boy is he from ACS pri? Cos show mentioned he has affiliation Liao whereas the Indian boy already dsa’ed so pressure could be eased from parents? When my girl had dsa, I actually was quite relaxed but my girl wanted to do well herself to prove to herself so yah that’s self-initiated, 与我无关 haha
What i didn’t understand was the boy already got DSA CO from VS (O level track). Why his parents insist he must score full marks for his Math and even send for holiday bootcamp? :skeptical:[/quote] -

Accept offer can be exercise after psle exam. Maybe they think he can do well enough, to use Psle instead. I know there are kids end up reject offer to use psle yo enter. Or to use better psle results to ask to switch to IP.

The host mentioned none of the three got much better than their normal std in the end? I thought it was briefly mentioned but didn't rewind to confirm. -

No, the school uniform shirt is blue and white striped, i think that is the new St Andrew’s Junior PE uniform.

I felt sorry for Caleb when he said his mum has prepared some books for him to start preparing for sec 1 subjects and starting tuition in next Jan when sch begins. But at least, can tell the boy is vocal and express his feelings instead of hiding inside.

Do any of your kids experience burn out?
Mine seem to be, and I totally emphathize. I can see they don’t plan to carry on at this pace for life. (In a way, semi tang ping?)
They have benefitted richly from the Singapore education experience, but I don’t think they like to do it for long.
Maybe all your kids are super high capacity. But as far as I can see, there is a group of Singapore kids who peak early, and cannot sustain at this pace for long. Some want out early, others are less drastic. Yet there are others who are high capacity, high performers in a sustained way. -

Mine is not high capacity at all lol. And he has no qualms voicing out to me if workload gets too much. I allow him plenty of time in his social and cca calendar to get his recharge (extrovert). After spending time with friends on non-academic activities, he is happy and ready to chiong some more. Maybe it is about finding the right work-life balance?

Personally, I m expecting their gen to be more stressful than ours. We can say stress now, get very good degree next time will not be so stressful…my side, I m very scared they stressed till they give up. My dd1 can switch off completely type. So I feel I only have 1 choice ie let them manage on their own. When we say dd1 going for accountancy in Poly, our relative who is auditor says no, don’t. I told my mom many kids choose their dream job but my dd is to see which path is opened to her and that will be her path.

I didn’t hear the part that they didn’t do as well, in fact, based on their expressions, they seemed to outperform? I only heard 2 of them had single digits while one of them had double digits. The boys got into their first choice Sch while the girl got into second choice. Happy endings it seem.

I felt sorry for him too but not the first time I heard kids are sent to sec 1 prep courses after psle.

Is this an indication that parents think psle results are not satisfactory, hence need to prepare ahead? Those who got in R/H or other IP, likely will not start tuition in sec 1, i guess.

Like my kid remarked, in front of camera, the kids will also know how to be politically correct. All three families were smiling and looked satisfied when received results.
