For example of reply, can check out suggested answer from 10 year series (would recommend the one from EPH).

I heard that if take HCL in secondary school will exempt the student from the need to take CL in JC. Would like to verify this in detail in the context of IP schools.


1. Any requirement that need to fulfil to be exempted from taking CL in JC in IP schools? Understand that for Hwa Chong, a minimum B3 is required. As students do not take O level in IP track, may I know how is this being assessed?

2. For other IP schools (non SAP), any requirement for the HCL in Year 1-4 in order to be exempted from taking CL in Year 5&6?

Students in IP schools take the O levels for HCL, that would be how this is being assessed.

The official requirement is min D7 in O levels HCL to be exempted from H1 CL in JC. But maybe some schools impose their own rules which you will need to check.
