Thanks! Happy Mother's Day to you too, and to all the mothers on KSP!
Yea, I been thinking this morning too. Will do that
Happy Mother's day to you slmkhoo.
We're having dinner with my parents next week - my daughter is leaving for her first official work trip this afternoon!
By the way, someone told me that Dian Xiao Er is having a \"years of marriage\" promo till 27 June at selected outlets - the discount is the no. of years the couple has been married. Must book ahead, and only Mon-Thurs. See below for details.

We are busy this week, and away next week, so my husband and I are planning to get our 36% discount after that. If my parents want to come, then we can get 62% discount! -

Yes, your kids are brought up by you so whether to celebrate or not will somehow be shaped by your upbringing.
I guess coz I m not someone who puts much attention in celebrations..and they were brought up by me..so naturally lor.. dds want to get me gifts but I told them no need. I m not someone who gets excited in receiving gifts.
Sometimes I do think will that make them having one lesser joy in life in the future and also will they be missing the joy of giving now? Their birthdays we celebrate together coz it happens during school holiday so everyone is there.
My mum likes all these gatherings so I guess I naturally like such celebrations too.
My late MIL on the other hand, did not think such celebrations were necessary. DH always offered to bring her out for Mother’s Day lunch but she consistently rejected.
Funny thing is, although she said no need to celebrate, she got jealous/black face when she saw us wearing nice nice to go celebrations with my mum while she was alone at home.
So I say, if your kids want to give you something as a token of appreciation, pls take! -

Whatever it is, since your late MIL has already passed away, just let go 放下 those funny things she had done before. It is for the sake of you not your MIL because it reflects you are still affected by some negative feeling on her jealous or black face,何苦呢?

I was just sharing my observation that humans can say no need to celebrate Mother’s Day but they are not happy when really nobody celebrates with them.
So how do you celebrate Mother’s Day with your mum? My family with my siblings, parents and my 96yo grandma are having buffet now

This morning, I had the best Mother’s Day moments at morning service, knowing we’re given the responsibility to nurture our young ones to grow & develop and feels fulfilling. My family gave me hugs & words of comfort looking into my eyes.
Thankful for the opportunity to exercise our patience to see our young ones grow to maturity, to love and to support them no matter what situation they encounter. To give them lots of emotional support, mental stimulation, provide for their physical needs & guide them in their spiritual grow.
Must rmbr to get a family dinner for Father’s Day too as they also played a very impt role running ard getting the baby cots set up & buying babies’ supplies when I was a new mother back then. They’re the financial provider & the muscle for days when mummy is flat out. In my family, DH is the one driving ard the kids for lessons, tuition & when they’ve to do competitions ard the reservoirs.
Thank you all for this parenting journey where I learnt so much to apply. :thankyou: -
If my mum were around, I would celebrate with her.

We don't celebrate Mother Day because it is always very crowded outside. DS and DIL are celebrating with his MIL.
