When stir fry veg, do you add some stuff like little black fungus? Besides this, what else can we add?

You can do the 3 egg spinach (chicken egg, salted duck egg & century egg stir fry with cloves of garlic. Can add lightly soaked wolfberries for colour.
I use black fungus stir fry with King mushrooms or add golden mushrooms.
Can also do stew vegetarian black fungus (small type), beancurd strips (fu cok), taupok, red dates, dried Chinese mushroom, pakchoy, golden mushroom (tie a knot) fried with 南乳。I just love this dish esp during CNY, will add black moss (Fatt Choy but these days we can’t find the real deal).
Fungus salad also nice esp when you chill it. Add cut cucumbers & cilantros, chilli.
I fry veggies with 银鱼 or any small dried fish and s’times I lightly pound dried shrimps to fry with veggies like KangKong or spinach.
Ano dish I s’times do kale with scallops. -

Black fungus only if my family members not fussy (some won’t eat it). If want crunchy feel, can substitute with baby corn, or cashew nuts. I like to put sliced carrots but won’t overcook so still crunchy. Can also use red, yellow, green capsicum, colourful to entice kids to eat.
Need some advice, pls.

I personally like the luohan chye type of veggie dish where there’s a whole variety of colourful veggies. But my family usually prefer the boring 1 green leafy veggie just stir fry with garlic and oyster sauce… -

I don’t mind the scan to order, but a few places must pay first using credit card then order will go thru…quite troublesome.

And i have dh with laohua so left me or ds to scan & order for whole family. The poor eyesight ones need big big printed menu to flip thru… -
For black fungus, i eat only Dried Mouse Ear Black Fungus.
Ok, I will try to stir fry baby corn with veg.
Dd hates carrots.
I tried dried shrimps but the smell is just too strong to bear. -

My standard items (not all at once, and depending on the veg and my mood) are: carrots, peppers, mushrooms, tofu (various types), ngor hiang, fishballs. But since I cook 1-dish meals, there's also always some meat or fish in the dish too.
Need some advice, pls.

Julienned carrots work well if there is nothing else available in the pantry, and it looks pretty when contrasted with green veg or beansprouts. Shitake mushrooms and small shrimps work well too.

Fwiw, the service-oriented Chinese restaurants will initiate giving the old folks a traditional flip menu book, and also take the orders in the traditional way (even if they key the order into their ipad). Even if they don’t, u can ask whether this option is available (usually i do it when shown to the table and waiter points to the qr code). If no such option then just take your business elsewhere (i’ve done that sometimes when phone low batt).

I guess the ultimate place is Luckin Coffee - all the outlets I have patronised do not have any option of manual ordering or payments - orders and payments are only processed through the app. Can’t pay with cash can’t order in person.
