@AngieHo Nope, did not call NUSH, thinking there is a reason why there are full day and half day campers (perhaps one has better selection test results than the other? Not sure) I called TJC though, checking if they can consider to give different schedule. Have yet to receive feedback from them. If not, no choice but to give-up one of these two.

NUSH has sent out camp invites via email last evening (9 July at 6pm). Apparently there are 2 main groups, full-day campers and half-day (PM) campers. Do remember to submit your confirmation to attend the camp via the link in the email.

I guess there are 3 groups as my DS is attending half-day (AM).

I wonder if half-day campers have a lower chance of getting into NUSH than those selected for the full-day camp?

@AngieHo I saw from this thread too that Math test for TJC is in Jul 20, although my daughter initial schedule is on the 13th. There is hope!

@revils_ling Hi, any idea what is the different for half day and full day campers?
My son receive the email but he is under full day, will clash with his TJC test.
Wonder if i can call in and change to half day camp?
Nus High line cannot call thru.

I think best way is to try giving TJC a call to request a change in teat date if possible. NUSH side definitely won’t be able to allocate another date for their camp. While there’s a fair bit of speculation on the grapevine about the length of the session in relation to the chances of getting a CO/WL, I think it’s best to keep an open mind and just encourage our kids to enjoy themselves this Saturday. All the best for those who have a another test that clashes with this camp. Hope u can find work out a suitable alternative soon.

Hi @Sweetmadness, I think no point worrying about this difference in arrangement especially since we can’t do anything about it. One could also argue that the full-day campers might be the ones that require more observation and reconsideration than the half-day campers. I’m saying this sort of arrangement could either way, and we won’t know the truth unless the school decides to explain to us. Fyi, I’m saying this as a parent of a full-day camper. I’m sure we all have our own doubts but let’s not let them
affect our kids’ special day. 😊
