          Hi parents,

Does anyone know if compulsory quad sciences (triple science + CS) is a very recent implementation for Year 1s? We only learned about it during the principal’s talk at this year’s open house. Even when we spoke to the existing students in Years 3 and 4 during the open house, we’ve only heard them mentioned about having to take triple sciences in Year 1.

            Hullo

You can check the Programme of Studies by cohort to see if there was any change. For some time now and even during DS cohort which has already graduated, they had to do Math & Triple science from day 1 ,and computational thinking CS 1311 from year 1 sem 2.

            Computational Thinking
Computational thinking is taking an approach to solving problems, designing systems and understanding human behaviour that draws on fundamental concepts in computer science. This course consists of three main units: 1)
Problem Solving, 2) Programming Principles & Concepts and 3) Data Skills. Students will be able to 1) Learn and apply a variety of problem-solving techniques to discover a solution to problems that are situated in a variety
of contexts. 2) Understand basic programming principles and concepts such as iterations, conditionals and variables using turtle graphics. 3) Perform simple data cleaning, analysis and visualization using various functions in Excel and learn about the importance of data security.

If your child is in the right school, you will detect the cheer and uplift in mood as they look forward to classes instead of telling you that they are bored and/or sleepy like when you had picked them up from primary school gates. 😂

Hi, anyone knows what time does school start daily (reporting time) for NUS High?

Anyone has the CCA schedule as well?
I saw the CCA brochures online but most CCAs did not list their meeting days and timing.

                Update for @123Mum
From what I know of class of 2023 - more or less the same for med school entry in 2023/24
14 in YLL, 5 in LKC and 2-3 overseas
Appears YLL took in more girls (likely as per the entire YLL cohort ) and LKC usually slightly more or balanced with boys.

There are 21 students in Medicine from NUSH class of 2022, 11 students in YLL, 8 students in LKC and 2 students overseas. This represent 11% of the cohort, not only a few or small percentage.
And nobody came in their school uniform during white coat ceremony.
11% of cohort will imply 120 each from R and HC if they hv similar acceptance rate.
Numbers for Class of 2023 not known yet.

Does anyone know if there are private school buses to NUSH?
Where to find out and know the pick-up points information?
