Both of my children chose HCI and NYGH. In terms of Philosophical Inquiry, the sec 2 students are currently taking it, but it is a non-weighted subject. Also, take note that Language Arts at NYGH is a combined subject that integrates both Literature and English.

Hi, is philosophical inquiry only for Y2 students?

Character development is impt as they progress into adulthood so Sch plays a large part. NYGH talks a lot about 勤慎端朴 and hci on 自强不息. Compare that to Raffles. The emphasis on character development is different. What kind of leader do you want your child to be the next time or what is more suitable for her to be next time.

Thanks. I recall you preferred RGS, are you happy with the development of your DDs after going through NYGH/HCI?

Both RGS and NYGH are top-notch schools. It really depends on your daughter’s strengths, interests, and where she feels most comfortable. Each offers unique opportunities, so consider her preferences.

          Hi,
Attended both open house and she didn’t have a preference.

Could you share what the are the unique oppotunities for each school? Thank you

Hi Sorry i think i jumped the gun,

            May i ask

            1. what is the promotion criteria for sec 1 to sec 3 ? is the same for the Sec 04 promo to JC ?
            2. I assume MSG is mean subject grade . and it is peg to the O level scoring of A1,A2, and its respective raw score ?

I would say NYGH/HCI are suitable schools for them.

For all my Kiasu parents out there with kids in secondary school, I chanced upon a new tuition centre offering very affordable classes at only $30 for a 2 hour lesson - it’s called Educare Tutoring.

Might be a better option for those who are more cost conscious, hope it’s helpful.
