@slmkhoo Mind sharing where you target to visit in Berlin & prague? We may go Munich next year, will consider extending to your 2 cities if have stuff we like!
Haven’t thought that far ahead yet! We identified those cities because we haven’t been to them before (the Berlin wall only came down after we graduated, and we’ve not made it there in the past 35 years!) If we do go, it will probably be in May, so I’ll probably only start doing some research in Feb? My usual starting point is to look at travel blogs and make a shortlist.

@ChiefKiasu Have all the no. of posts disappeared? So I am now a “new user” again? How many posts before a user’s posts don’t need to be screened by a moderator?

@slmkhoo thanks dear. I’ve just upvoted your posts, hopefully that increases your “credit standing” which removes the need for moderators’ approval. I think.

@zac-s-mum Thanks! Now I think about it, all those long, long posts I’ve written over the years are gone?! I should have made copies - I could probably write a book, or at least my memoirs, from them!

@Funz Looks like my husband might be going on a work-related trip to Danang in Nov. I haven’t been there, but I’m not keen to tag along. Will also be quite busy with other stuff in Nov.

I hoping to go Xi’an next spring with my hubby hike Hua Shan in march … hope dream come true.
My next wish list is jiu zhaigou too , but dunno how to do myself . Yun Nan , shangrila etc …I m “ scared” abt trustworthiness of engaging local drivers , safety issues… -

@MyPillow no i’ve never been to China, other than a week-long trip to Beijing city & Great Wall in 2011. My DH flies to various cities in China regularly now for work though. If u look on Xiaohongshu, the tour route from Chengdu > Jiuzhaigou > Emei shan & panda reserve is an extremely common tour route. Some ppl said ctrip app has tour agencies that will assist in booking good hotels + driver (car or tour bus) + entrance tickets. I did indeed find some there & enquired via WeChat.
There are also some advertising via XHS but i dunno the reliability. Scared the drivers bring us to some forced-buy shops/restaurants. Happened in our taiwan trip, super sian.
