Yes visit open houses, get a feel of the vibes from each school. Interact with the students and teachers, have a look at what curriculum they have to offer.
-
@chick81 yes, agree absolutely. Which are the schools open house do you have in mind to visit with your child, if you don’t mind sharing here 🤭

@HNS2015 I had a very good impression of Maris Stella when I brought my son there for DSA trial. The boys were very welcoming and friendly. Very good vibes. Presbyterian High as well. The teachers looked very cheerful and energetic.

Yes, Maris Stella is a good school!
My girls will be in P5 next year, and their school’s affiliated with Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Sec. Since there’s already affiliation, does it make sense to look at schools with higher COPs than Kuo Chuan? -
It’s back this year by popular demand!

@HNS2015 Why not if your girls’ results allows, there’s always other choices. Like single gender schools. Also good to start early since this period are the open houses, no harm to visit and feel the vibes on the school’s environment. Especially you are intending to visit > 5 schools, all open houses happen in the morning, max i suppose per half morning visit 3 sec schools. I brought my daughter to Anderson, Presbyterian High and Kuo Chuan in the same morning via public transport. So tiring!

Yes most of the open houses fall on the same date. We went to one in May and couldn’t make it for the second one that was on the day. To visit 3 school in one morning is certainly tiring

@HNS2015 My max was three in one day, but actually we gave the most attention to the first one!

Hi i am at lost and wants my kid to be motivated again… he gets AL15. If he does well in sec 1 can i appeal to transfer him to a good school with COP of 9 points for G3?
