Seeking Advice: Selecting Secondary School for child with ADHD / Mild ASD (Mainstream)
-
Choosing a Secondary School (Assuming they pass)
Transitioning to secondary school is a huge leap—more subjects, different teachers for every subject, and higher social/executive functioning demands. When shortlisting mainstream secondary schools for a child with SEN (Special Educational Needs):
How do we know if there is any Special Educational Needs Officer (SENO)?
Will there be programs generally a better fit for kids who need structure and lower sensory overload?
School Recommendations: If you’re comfortable sharing, which mainstream secondary schools (any zone) have a strong, empathetic support system for ADHD/mild ASD students?
Any experiences or general advice would mean a lot to us right now. Thank you so much!
