Free P1–P6 maths app (Singapore syllabus, bar models): your child teaches a blob who's always wrong. Honest feedback wanted
-
Hi everyone,
I’ve made a free maths app for children aged 6–12, called Tallytide. It follows the Singapore syllabus, from counting and times tables up to fractions, ratio, angles and P5–P6 bar model word problems.
The twist: your child doesn’t just answer questions. They teach Gloop, a blob who is always confidently wrong, and have to spot and fix his mistakes. That makes them think about the method, not just the answer.
What’s in it:
- 2 worlds and 11 islands, from P1 counting to P6 “before and after” problems
- Bar models done step by step: draw the model, find 1 unit, then the answer
- Professor Pickle gives clues when your child is stuck, without giving the answer away
- A Grown-ups area (behind a code) showing your child’s progress
Free, no ads, no sign-up, nothing to download. It works on a phone, tablet or computer, and your child’s progress stays on your device:
https://tallytide.pages.devIt’s new, so honest feedback would help a lot: what your child likes, what confused them, what’s too easy or too hard. You can reply here, or use the “Review Tallytide” button in the Grown-ups area.
Thank you!

@Tallytide Hi! Thanks for sharing this with our community. We’ve listed it in our forum sidebar. Do keep us posted here as you update it, and we’d love to hear how parents find it!

@thebottomsupblog Thank you so much for listing it! I’ll keep this thread updated as I improve the app. If any parents or kids try it, I’d love to hear what works and what’s confusing. Any feedback helps.

Update: Tallytide has had a big update since I posted.
- Boss battles: each island’s Big Quiz is now a showdown with a silly “Muddler” who boasts wrong maths. Every right answer is a hit.
- Bar models: in the Big Quiz, children can sketch their own bar model the way they would in school. It isn’t marked.
- Gloop levels up as your child teaches him, with a little power-up moment, and his thank-you stars buy him new tricks.
- Quieter: no more click sound on every tap.
Still free, no ads, no sign-up: https://tallytide.pages.dev
If your child tries it, I’d love to hear what they enjoyed and what confused them.
