DD1 wore a bikini the first term  then this year, she was pai seh, so she's wearing a one piece.

If the gal is okay with removing and putting the swimsuit back on without problems, one piece is not so warm! JMHO! πŸ˜‰

My girl wears 1-piece suit during her weekend weekly swimming class.

ksp - Same as you, I also have concern over going to the toilet for wearing 1-piece suit. Especially so since I am not sure if they are given the chance to change into swimming wear before their siwmming lesson. If not then need to wear it under the PE atttire to school, then how to go toilet if wearing 1-piece suit under the PE attire?

Andaiz - does it mean there is swimming lesson at both P1 and P2?

        Thanks πŸ™‚

I got dd a 2 piece swim suit just for her school’s swimming lessons. She wears a thermal suit for her weekend lessons as it is pretty early in the morning and the water tend to be cold.

According to DD, her teacher told them to get 2 pc suits and to wear it under their PE attire even though their PE is not the first period. Reason being that there may not be enough time for them to change into their suits. So I guess a 2 pc will be more convenient and less hot.

My girl used to wear one piece under her Tshirt (the kind with the zipper) in P1 but found it very lnconvenient when she has to go to the toilet as that would mean taking out T shirt shorts and peeling down her costume half way. Its also kind of cold when she gets out of the water. In P2 I changed her costume to simple 2 piece and she found it more comfortable n convenient moving around. Theres normally not much time to change before swimming classes especially if its after assembly. The teacher will need to gather the girls fast, do a headcount and board the bus. After swimming there is also limited time to change so the girls are told to rinse, not much time to shower unless shes fast. I know one mother that will leave her maid there to help bathe her child. It will be good if yr grls swimming lesson is at the end of the day... then she can get home and hv a good bath.
I normally make hot milo in a themos for her to bring to the pool. This will warm her up after the swim, most are hungry after lessons.
The swimming lessons will go on for 3 three yrs. Dnt worry, the kids do enjoy their swimming lessons.

They make the girls swim a lap in the first lesson. Then they separate the ones who cannot swim and those who can. Lessons are pitched at the level that the kids are most comfortable.

LeeTaiTai, this is only for one term so you may need to get her to continue once the school sessions end. :celebrate:

Buona Vista Swimming Pool. Last year, the coaches were from Yeo's acquatics - a swim school set up by Joscelin Yeo and run by her brother Leonard. See http://www.yeosaquatics.com/

....also at Farrer... APS school, my grl wnt to buona vista in p1, Farrer in p2 and back to Buona vista in p3. I notice instructors at Farrer r more strict and the pool cleaner but location is rather old as compared to buona vista.
