My colleague of mine is doing that. She employed the maid under her name and the maid stay with her parents. She will bring back the kids but not the maid. ONLY weekends she bring her back to clean her house.
thks for ur advice. actually we knw they won't do 2 places, so we did tell agt she will stay at my sis pl instead of mine, so let the maid knws my sis is the employer so that she just do 1 place, furthermore, my kids are at my sis pl everyday during daytime, night time then we bring them bk..auntieM:

Last time this pattern was norm for maids, not anymore..
Especially if they have to work in both houses..
My friend's maid will follow the kiddos to ILs place and look after the kid only, no housework at all..
Unless you can strike a deal with your maid.. .. most of them know the rules well nowadays.
Its all depends on the maid de. For my case, everyday I bring my kids and maid to my parents' house. She will help out doing housework(my mum also hv maid) when my kids are having nap with my parents. -

first week a bit frustrating because she kept asking for handphone (agreed many times that no handphone is allowed) to call/sms home and off day (3 months probation no off day). she also got a bit homesick.
i told her directly that if want handphone, look for another employer. she backed off. i also asked agent to call her to explain first 3 months no off day. she was a bit scared when agent called her. my wife told her if you miss home so much, you should repay the loan and go back home. she was shocked when hearing this. of course we also try to help and show good. i bought another calling card for her (she will pay) and encourage her to call home. i also let her call her SIL working in Singapore. we just bought a new set of mattress, cover, protector and pillow for her. she kept asking how much cost and saying not necessary.
that was the first week. after that till now, she is amazingly good.
every time i cook something, no matter where she is, she will come over and quietly observe and write down procedure and details in a note book. i didnt ask and expect that. next day she can cook the exact same thing with same taste and even better than i did. i couldnt believe it! if rice runs out, she will cook noodle. if vegetable runs out, she will find those seasonings in kitchen and follow instructions to cook fish, chicken and whatever, all without asking. the taste is really good. she is quiet but very smart and have lots of initiatives. just after a few days she has done so much better cooking than my previous maid who has staying with us for 8 months. my previous maid can also cook but never bother to write down, observe and try new dishes, even been asking for many times.
she also has very good attitude. every time i say something to her, seriously or casually, big or small, she remembers every word very seriously and do accordingly. she seems very open minded and stubborn is the word i will never use for her.
every time she sent my kid to school, she will hold hands and keep looking out. my previous maid just lagged behind and sometimes even talked over hand phone.
for cleaning, she does it in slow but constant pace. i told her to rest between 1pm and 3pm but she said she never sleeps during the day. my previous maid slept like a baby during that hours.
sometimes she is a bit too smart. when ironing, she makes a solution using the diluted silicone lubricant spray and pull into the steam iron. it's super smooth so the shirts ironed are really really nice but i almost fainted by the strong fragrance steam smell in the ironing room.
she agreed to have $20 rather than off day. she said she needs some rest in off day but no need to go out. she also said she will at least work 5 years for me. hehe...i dont take it seriously though.
anyway i would say she is so much better than previous two transferred maids. i always expect this but never delivered until now.
are those people from north philippine very stubborn and pride? like my previous two transferred maid. this new maid is from central philippine iloilo and personality is very very different from them.shine_fs:
