Hi Taurus, my sympathies with you.
Honestly if it happens to me, I would be tempted to tell the maid - I will only send you HOME, not to agent. And see what she says. Why oh why do employers have to pay up the maid’s loan upfront on their behalf? and yet unable to get it back if the maid only come here for holiday?? -
According to MOM, the maid loan is a private contractual agreement between the employer and the maid agency, so MOM cannot do anything about it. This means that employer can always choose not to pay the maid loan.
But how else can we get a maid ?
If we don't want to take the risk of losing $3000 of maid loan, the only option is to get a maid who is already in Singapore. Check out my blog :

I know many employers have bad experiences with transfer maids, but that is because maid agencies told lies about the maid's employment history. Make sure that you check the employment history on MOM website, and only employ maids that have worked for more than 2 years with one employer only. This is the safest option.

My colleague of mine is doing that. She employed the maid under her name and the maid stay with her parents. She will bring back the kids but not the maid. ONLY weekends she bring her back to clean her house.
thks for ur advice. actually we knw they won't do 2 places, so we did tell agt she will stay at my sis pl instead of mine, so let the maid knws my sis is the employer so that she just do 1 place, furthermore, my kids are at my sis pl everyday during daytime, night time then we bring them bk..auntieM:

Last time this pattern was norm for maids, not anymore..
Especially if they have to work in both houses..
My friend's maid will follow the kiddos to ILs place and look after the kid only, no housework at all..
Unless you can strike a deal with your maid.. .. most of them know the rules well nowadays.
Its all depends on the maid de. For my case, everyday I bring my kids and maid to my parents' house. She will help out doing housework(my mum also hv maid) when my kids are having nap with my parents. -
