Thanks for your post above, certainly will bear that in mind. I do agree there should be a year-end exam (topical tests are really quite different), but MOE seems to be advocating it away...

So which of these schools (NYPS, RGPS, SCGS) do not have SA1 or SA1 in p1 and p2?
I know NYPS has done away with it liao

If I am not wrong, RGPS P1 does not have SA1 but have SA2. Not sure about P2.

this year P1 has only EOY Math test, Chn & EL is under \"show and tell\"

this year P2 only has SA2, no CA

heard that CA / SA for P1 & 2 are on the way out

The P2s still have the SA1

For those who failed in Nanyang Primary School, a handful of them will head for Bukit Timah primary School. A neighbour of mine who failed in the balloting within 1km for her 1st and 2nd child turned to New Town Primary School. She will be trying her luck again this year for her 3rd child.....
So I guess if my dd can't get into NYPS, sure can get in Bukit Timah Primary or New Town Primary? My friend staying in Duchess is already giving uo NYPS, gping for NTP for her dd as she doesn't want her dd to get too stress out.. Most of her classmates are not going to NYPS. Her sch is near NYPS..

I'm not too sure if its good news anot as its not the only preschool in the area.. most of her frens have siblings or have parents who are alumni in other schs.. A percentage of her frens are pr or jap.. The jap frens are going to jap sch or international sch.. Out of her class, including her, only 3 is applying for NYPS..some unknown cos never see the parents..

                        tingting,

Friend staying in Duchess has decided not to try for NYPS even though she stays within 1km. Her daughter is registered in her former school. She thought of NYPS earlier as she has a younger son.
