Please refer to the balloting history of the school http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/ang-mo-kio.
With the exception of last year, SNGS required balloting for those within 1 km even in P2B. It is anybody's guess on the situation this year. -

As far as I know, for all Catholic schools in Singapore, you'll just have to present a baptism certificate and that would suffice, ie. you do not need a letter from the church nor show proof that you are a regular churchgoer for x years.
Better check with your religious leader on Phase 2B qualification - before it is too late to remedy.
For eg, some people think that they have been attending the church long time will qualify them ....but realised too late that they need to be a confirmed member for xx number of years .....something like that .... -
Hello,
I sincerely request the help of any 2 existing SHHK members for their name sponsors for my membership application.
Please drop a mail to [email protected] if you are able to help.
Thanks in advance.
Have a nice day.

I called the school and apparently the school will only receive the letters from SHHK quite close to Phase 2B and only then will they send the letter to the SHHK member! And they also cant even provide a decent date! And PHASE 2A2 results only out on 20 July and registration for PHASE 2B starts on 22 July! 2 days?! Can school gtee that they will send out by 20 July and can SINGPOST gtee the letter will reach me by 21 July?
Called SHHK and they cant even say whether they have issued the recommendation letter!
TUG OF WAR between the school and the clan! :x :x
Makes me think why have the membership in the 1st place since it looks quite a hopeless case!
Thinking of the above makes my blood boil!
Any experienced mummy/daddy care to share their experience under Phase 2B with SHHK recommendation (letter came from school? or how do u know u r recommended??) -

Thanks Grandmaster
Seriously, it means the system is quite ineffective because SHHK is not very helpful when it comes to offering information especially with the influx of calls just 1/2 days before PHASE 2B starts since PHASE 2A2 will only end 2 days before
But I guess if the system had worked in the past, it will just continue unless more members/parents feedback about this.
I cant stand the anxiety of knowing only just a day before the registration. Not sure if other parents face the same kind of situation as me.

nothing about effectiveness of the system.
The number of recommendation letters that SHHK can issue for each school is determined only after the number of vacancies for phase 2B is known, as the schools have to balance the needs of SHHK members and that of their PVs. -
Precisely lo. Silly me thot SHHK will just provide the recommendation list regardless of vacancies. Then it is only for the school to decide after balancing their own requirements in view of availability. That is why I just don't understand the rationale for SHHK to decide on their recommendation list based on vacancies but thought they should have their own criteria (eg contributions by the members) :?
-
I believe SHHK has certain rules, eg number of years as members; contribution etc, to sort the applicants, then by cut off the list based on the numbers agreed with the school.
