I heard that tis from my friend, her sis when to register her child for Phase 1 that day and the principle say they will transit to single-session by 2012 and they will reduse 30vacanies each year for the 2012 single session. And the Phances 1 this yr took up more than 50% . My son is going P1 at 2012 and i doing parent volunteer now .Do you think there is enough space for next yr register for phase 2b? there is 54 parent volunteer for 2012 intake.

I heard that the standard for Northland is vy high and there is a lot of learning journey, what should i do am i making the right choice for my son?

Or should i choose Jiemin pri or Northland Pri? :?: :?: :?:

move to single session by 2012? that is 2 years earlier than stipulated by MOE...wondering 30 cut from 2010 will be enough ?
for Phase 2B space, you better call the school...will they take into account of committed parents?
what standard is very high? if you mean the number of PV, then 60hours is already a norm years back πŸ˜‰

ya is 2yrs earlier so i am so worry now, they jus say they will not compulsary u have a place.
i mean the children will be vy pressure for their studies i heard fr a few parents they say their english , maths is vy diffcult

yes, their standard quite high except Chinese.
same feedback from student care ctr teachers who happen to have first-hand information to compare the standard of different schools.
But that is one of the reason it is a hot school... πŸ˜‰

            Zoan,

now i might understand a little bit better about your dilemma.
i think you might worry a bit too much lah... πŸ˜‰

i have one PRC friend whose daughter cope quite well with her Eng, guess what the only tuition she had is Chinese!

so dont hold prejudice against your son. Boy might show less interest in language. Thus i suggest you to read some other very useful and informative discussion thread here:
            http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewforum.php?f=24&sid=6d90988ac99e9d539727ff4db020e5ad

on another note of stress, i dun think sch will pressurize kids. it is the parents who do...
from what i observe, lower level kids are enjoying their sch life. my P1 son has been given numerous enrichment program at very very low cost since Day 1: Arts, Ceramic & Clay, Speech & Drama, Junior Soccer Program, Violin, Tennis, In-line-skating... you name it, they offer it... πŸ˜‰

                Hi all

My son is in Northland too. He’s in P1.

From my PV experience, the school has a system that ensures all PV will get a place for their child. They do this by cutting off accepting PVs when they think the numbers indicate the need for balloting. Last year all the PVs got a place, and there was still some vacanies left in Phase 2B.

                  Hi Hyperkiasu,

Side track a little here. Can you share with me which student care centre did you put your son in? Is it near Northland?

I am shocked to learn about the sudden closure of Eager Beaver - The Lodge at SAFRA Yishun today. The lease on the student care centre will be extended to end Dec’10 after much negotiation with SAFRA.

I would be grateful if anyone of you can recommend me a student care that is preferably near NorthLand Primary School where my daugther is studying?

                    Many thanks!

                        Hi all

I am still thinking to enrol in yr 2011 or not…
But it will be a logistic nightmare if it is still not single seesion by 2014 as I stay in Sengkang. I am a old girl, so I will try under phase 2A2…
