any comments for my first skool in hougang?

Does every My First Skool have additional enrichments like Speech N Drama and Arts or only selective branches?
Does anyone have other enrichment programmes besides above mentioned at My First Skool? -
Just to share my experience as i have 2 children in My First Skool in Bishan. Currently the principal is a malay lady who, as far as i know, is also the principal of the Haig Road centre. I had very bad experience with the previous two principals until this lady came along. With this principal, the first obvious improvement was that teachers’ turnover rate dropped tremendously.
My DD (currently in K2) has so far shown that she can read and write (basic English and Chinese) and count (including simple addition and subtraction). Very minimal homework which is what i really like, because my DD goes to the centre from 7 to 7, and i cannot imagine if she has to bring any homework back to do! If there are any ‘homework’, it will be more towards performing some home activities with parents. The centre has a ‘learn by play’ approach, which i got to appreciate for my DD because i find that her learning does not come from memorising, but rather from understanding and critical thinking. This being said, i do know of parents who do not share my view because they can’t seem to see what the child has learnt because the childcare does not use ‘worksheets and classroom style’ approach. It took me quite a while to appreciate what ‘learn by play’ approach is all about. Most important of all, DD is very enthusiatic about going to skool.
My DS is in Nursery, and he can recognise alphabets. He can also sing some cute songs (eg animal songs) and speak some basic mandarin. He can’t write yet though, but i don’t intend to force him to do so until he is ready because i want him to enjoy his play at school. Like his sister, he seems to enjoy school. -
My First Skool going to open a new branch at Geylang East. Thought of sending my girl for full day care. Hope to hear feedback on mummies kids already at my first skool. Thanks
