our maid telling lies by using yr hse phone to call her cousin & friends to chit chat during the day she is doing the hse cleaning. When i reach home & find something fishy that i check on the phone, and ask her why got so many strange no. & she lies & tell that her church friends call her.
What I find easier to implement is to state clearly to the maid and make her agree to not using the house phone or owning a cell phone even before bringing her back from the agency. So it become part of the agreement if she wants to work for you.

Agree with tamarind that the maid probably won't change and you might need to get a new one. Had an ex maid who does that and chalk up my phone bills with calls too - turn out to be lots of strange men calling. Not giving the maid your home number or address is our policy too. In our case we got our agency to agree to use their address so that her family can send mail to her at the agency address.

                  Hi,

Dont you all find it irony, when governement is encouraging women to return to workforce and encouraging woman to give birth. YET they protect the FDW more then their own fellow citizens.

Just because they left their home to work in Singapore, does not really make them the less vulnerable.

In fact, we as employers are more helpless than them. During the day, i left my gal with my maid all own at home. My girl barely knows how to speak and even if she abuse her.My girl wont be able to tell me.

There was once i saw a big bump on my gal forehead, my heart ached. I question my maid what happen she merely told me that my girl fell.

Is that really the case, only heaven knows, I did not even scold my maid for not looking after my girl properly. Not because i am kind nature, i hold my tongue back because of FEAR.

If i scold her will she vent it on my girl when i am not around.

Alot ot tasks given to her was not done properly, i tolerate and merely show her how to do it the proper way. I repeated this process umpteen times but she still cant do it properly. or she choses not to do it properly so that i can teach her again.

Sometimes i really feel like scolding her but again i hold my tongue. Why!
FEAR!! So who is the helpless one, the employer!

I think a lot of working mothers out there are caught in the same situation like mine.

The earlier video posted on maid kicks kicks. This is really scary clip for me.

I really like to urge the govement to give some protection to the employers.
For the very least if FDW get pregant due to her own decision to sleep
around they should not penalise the employers.

I do not think any employers would like to see their FDW get pregant. We as employers are already too preoccupied to earn a living. Is is reasonable for the employer to stay make sure the FDW does not stray?

That video is really shocking !

That's why I always advise employers never to leave their young children or babies alone with maids ! You never know whether they can be trusted or not. Babies and young children cannot talk !

Even if you installed video camera, the damage is already done by the time you found out !

Maids must be supervised at all times !

i stop the tape after watching the first kick… Can someone pls assist to nap this women!!!

How can anyone do that to a child!!! Poor baby!!! she just trying to walk away!!!

Yes, I agree, sometimes I feel like we are all so strapped by the law.
The maids nowadays are so well-informed. The MOM told them about their rights and so they will sometimes abuse it… We always have this fear of the maid taking their anger out on the kids…

I just pray for retribution to these women because sooner or later, they may have their own kids and then they will know how it feels to be a parent.

                      There is KARMA…

Seriously I have been thinking, if someone does this to my child, will i just call the police or hurt them first? The most they go to jail and then deported back to their country. Get a new or fake passport and go HKG or other country to work again. But the slightest hurt or damage to our kid is long term.

If i do not have someone at home with the maid to look after my child, I rather send her to childcare full day and hire part time domestic help for cleaning.

Which is why the govt is also opening up more child-care centers, women go back to work and leave kids at childcare. More sociable kids too…

I can’t see this video at all. It just keeps restarting after 3 seconds.

You have no problems watching it?
