I tot those <1Km < 2KM.... all ballot together?? Got priority for balloting meh?marmum:
Hi toffeev, which school is that you have advised? Anyone have info on the number of applications for phase 2b for Pei Chun? And for phase 2c, is it true that Singaporeans who live below 1km would be automatically chosen if the number is equals to or lesser than the vacancies available? And ballot would only come in if there is more demand that supply even if its Singaporeans below 1km? Am in this phase so very worried?
hi marmum, for Phase 2B and 2C, as long as number of applicants equal or less than vacancies, EVERYONE goes in. If it exceeds, they will see how many within 1km and then how many within 1-2km etc; and then determine on balloting.
Singaporeans will get 2 ballot slips, others 1 in event of balloting.
But then again... ballot 1st or last also no diff... if u pick the wrong ballot right? -
I tot they would that Singaporeans would be given the vacancies below the PRs even if below 1km? Is there anywhere I can read about the allocation for phase 2c?

I think it's only SG gets 2 votes over PR with 1 vote.... no priority given.
Else is no ballot is within the enrolment #. -

Thanks Daddy D, so it applies to both phase 2b & 2c respectively?

I tot those <1Km <2KM>All 40 within 1km, and 5 (btw 1-2km) goes in (PR or Singaporeans no difference). The 10 who live more than 2km goes to ballot for the 5 vacancies, SG get 2 slips, PR only 1 slip.
imagine 50 vacancies. 60 within 1km. 5 between 1-2km. 10 more than 2km.
-> 60 within 1km ballot for 50 spaces (again SG get 2 slips, PR only 1). Those out of 1km automatically disqualify, no balloting for them.
Painted only 2 scenarios to keep this short. -
let me explain with an example
if vacancy is 40 and there are
- 30 applicants within 1km
- 20 applicants 1-2 km
- 10 applicants above 2km
the 30 applicants within 1km will all be successful (PR & Singaporean all successful).
the 20 applicants 1-2 km will ballot for the remaining 10 places since 30 taken up by within 1km. The Singaporean child will have 2 slips placed in the balloting bowl, while the PR child will have 1.
the 10 applicants above 2 km will all be unsuccessful, no chance to ballot at all. -

yes. And that include those that have no chance to ballot, they should cancel and register at another school if they can.
