        thanks for your input.

no, i havent register her yet but am researching on which school to place her. i think i may have to effect a transfer from USA school to SG school.

        verykiasu2010:
it might be good to let her start Pri 2 at the beginning of the year (Jan 11) so that she can be at the same pace with her peers.

it is not much of perceptible gap between Pri 1 & Pri 2 and I am sure the girl can catch up during the December 2010 holidays.

the next task to which school to go to, or have you reserved a place in any singapore school ?

my spouse is american i did look at intl schools. firstly, they are very expensive. secondly, i wd like to expose my daughter to chinese education and local immersion. so i think i will prefer to place her in a local primaary school.

Is your spouse Singaporean? if not, you may want consider international school since your plan is to move back to USA.

agreed that she should start in Jan, a brand new school year here. you may want to call up some good schools and let her do the assessment and see how she can fit into the local environment.

                hello again

am i right to say no balloting will be necessary since my daughter will be placed in P2 next year? that hers will be an assessment test under direct school of choice placement?

                thanks.

                  hi

is there a link where i can see which primary schools are of morning sessions and which are of afternoon sessions?

also, is there is a link where i can see experiences of parents who did placement by choice via assessment test, instead of balloting?

                  thanks

                    hi again

i dont know where to post my questions, so i am posting them here. pls advice if there is somewhere else i should post.

i read under RGPS wehsite an Immersion Program is available for children from overseas. Can someone explain what this is about? How long is the immersion for? Does it lead to a longer term placement?

                    thanks

                      yes, NO balloting

it will be based on available vacancy in your desired school - go see the principal once you have identified your school of choice
