2010 DSA(Direct School Admission)

The GAT papers are similar in that they are non-verbal 'patterns' type puzzles, but they may not be exactly the same. Heard from someone who took tests at NYGH & DHS on the same day that the tests are the same. But there are others who took tests on different days who said there were a couple of similar questions, but certainly not the same papers. They are not administered by CSC.
GAT test by definition is non-verbal so that people from any lingual background will not be penalised by the usage of any particular language -
The NYGH and Dunman High GAT papers were IDENTICAL.

Some who attended phase 2 at HCI on 24 Jul were exempted from GAT cos they were told they took their GAT at other school (never say which one). So this means HCI, NYGH & DHS are sharing GAT results? :?
Does that mean that they also share the list of applicants? Otherwise how would HCI know who took GAT at other school and thus exempt these applicants from GAT?
I've a question. How does the GAT results affect the DSA application? Does failing GAT equate to failing DSA? Can other factors such as other subject tests / interview results override the GAT results? -
sorry to interrupt..does it mean that not getting a chance for RI interview = no chance at all for DSA? Then why they arrange GAT for the non-gepers if no interviews are granted to all non-gepers :?

RI makes sure every applicant must sit for the GAT before being shortlisted for selection test
in order words, RI uses the GAT to shortlist the kids for selection test of the domain applied for -
For those applying DSA to NYGH, the school is calling students for interview this week and next week. Check the application status.

oh, how come some people saying on this forum that NYGH has finished with all the interviews ? -

Yes. If you do badly in your GAT, you will not be able to proceed further in the DSA process. I know of people who scored Gold in their Math Olympiads and had consistently excellent school results who were not called in for the interview stage. Some who attended phase 2 at HCI on 24 Jul were exempted from GAT cos they were told they took their GAT at other school (never say which one). You are very correct in asking - \"Then why they arrange GAT for the non-gepers if no interviews are granted to all non-gepers?\"
This is the question that all Mainstream DSA applicants and their parents would like to ask RI.
I think interviews for Mainstream applicants are given by most DSA schools such as - NYGH, HCI, ACS(I) and even RGS. But I don't know why RI does not give Mainstreamers such an opportunity.
