For the past weeks, teaching daughter 听写 was rather smooth, but don’t know why she just can’t remember 收拾 and 时间 tonight. We practiced at least 3 pages each. All she remembers to write is 玩具 :x …don’t know to laugh or to get angry. Anyway, I don’t want to stress ourselves anymore.

My gal can't even write her chinese name properly.. I'm stressed out.. LOL!!! :lol:

I got 'burnt' coaching her to write those 2 词语...just told her to write what she knows. Now she is telling me she doesn't want to go to school 2moro. I told her it's ok that she is not able to remember all. As long as she has learnt and seen them b4.

As for her chinese name, it's rather messy too. Never mind lah, as long ash she can recognize her own name.

My DS's name is easy to write, we planned ahead fearing that he would be punished to write his name 100 times by some teacher some day. :oops:

Daughter’s Chinese name is relatively easy to write. I taught her to recognize her name in nursery. At K1, I held her hand to teach her to write in those big sq exercise books.


With 5 months more to go, I’m reminding myself to take it easy for K2.
Don’t want to stress and make her ‘ANTI-primary school’. But she really drove me nuts last night…could be partially due to the hot weather yesterday.

There are a lot more (preps) than meets the eye..

I recall once i had an SOS request to coach a K2
boy to read in September, some time after school
hols. I realized upon assessment that he doesn't
even know his ABCs! :shock:

I can never over-emphasize on early & timely preparations,
with or without attending pre-school education. While few of
the children may be able to make it with intensive coaching,
good/positive learning attitude and fab home support, others
will have signs of burn-out cos apparently reading isn't the only
thing they're rushing to learn by December.. the poor things..
